How To Custom Paint: Jazwares 7" Master Chief Custom Collectibles

My custom paint on an action figure this time will be on a 7 inch Master Chief from the Jazwares Halo Collection. For this figure the only modifications was on the knee pads, I scuffed them up a bit. I gave it a black shoe polish wash to really darken him up and used silver rub n buff to give him that weathered look and I think it came out great. This time I tried something new. You deserve way more subscribers, you inspired me to do my own, it looks like a deep dirty green with some small tan areas. Continue the work!

I picked this guy up and he’s soooo lime green! I think I’ll try the black wash first and if it stinks I’ll do an entire repaint in olive drab. I don’t get what they were thinking. They should have designed him as halo 1 with the lime color and it would almost be acceptable.

You’re not kidding! The color is horrible. I did 2 coats of wash. Looks far better then the lime green. Would like to see how yours turns out.

@@mrtoon2000 I think I’m actually going to try doing a dark green wash instead of black wash. I’ve been looking at a lot of pictures and video of halo 2 and he really doesn’t have black on him. The colors are dark gray (not black) and shades of medium to light green, olive drab might even be too dark for this version. Hmmm…

@@mrtoon2000 ok so I just took delivery today if the game stop two pack…wow, they have to be the worst quality figure ever. What is with the rubbery legs? He’s got a Gumby like feel to him, he won’t hold his pose very well because he’s so bendy. Remember the old bend-ems figures? I feel like this a jointed version of that. My newer spawn figs do not feel like this at all. I can’t decide if I should move on with my project or just return them. These aren’t plastic, they are rubber!

@@pjevans854 Yes the legs are horrible. That's why I couldn't believe it cost $20 for the poor quality. I just looked at the Gamestop 2 pack and the quality does not look the best and the paint scheme is just awful. If you decide to move forward with your project I would like to see the results.
Darn I was too cautious when I washed my figures: I washed the whole line but I went for a more subtle style. However by watching this, I feel like I wanna keep working on them. Really cool result! amazing
