    Hey Spicy! This exercise will help you understand a little better what's actually happening. But I would encourage you at your age to see if you can have your jaw evaluated by an orthodontist who knows what "orthotropics" is. For now, try to remember that holding your back teeth together (clenching) too forcefully, and too often, can make the clicking worse. Whenever you think about it, take a slow deep breath, smile gently, and let your jaw muscles relax with your teeth a little bit apart.

    I thought I'd reply to this because it's recent. Is "jaw clicking" what you only hear when you have your fingers in front of your ears? (When my fingers apply pressure to this area, I hear clicking, if I don't apply pressure, I don't hear any clicking.) Or is "jaw clicking" an actual audible noise that you can hear when you chew food or open your mouth (you don't have to be pressing in front of the ear to hear a click)?

  • @toknn

    @toknn

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@timobrien6957 nope, I’d literally open my mouth and it would ‘snap’ or ‘click’. It was very loud actually and people would ask wth that was. Usually when you open your mouth it gets stuck, opening it past a certain point will cause it to make that pop noise. Doing this treatment, the noise is gone and it doesn’t even rub against each other anymore, just a smooth open.

    So I've been having problems with my jaw clicking for like 4 years now. I've gone through stints where I'd find something that would kinda fix it but not fully, but nothing would work consistently or good enough for me to stick with it, then I found this video. I've been doing this for about 3 and a half months and now it's pretty common for me to go a full day without any clicking, I seriously can't thank you enough for uploading this, I forgot what it's like to not have to fight the bones in my face every time I open my mouth lol.

  • @teaareuh

    Wow wow wow took about 30 taps but it feels so much better. My jaw has popped since childhood because I used to grind my teeth. I forgot what it was like to open my mouth without the pop. Still does it a bit. I'll keep working at it. Thank you!!!

  • @scroll.central

    What do you mean by a "popping jaw"? Is it like a sound that you hear when you just normally open your mouth? Is it like a sound that you hear when you open your mouth wide? Or do you feel like the bone right before your ear moves a bit out of place?

  • @teaareuh

    @teaareuh

    Жыл бұрын

    @@scroll.central so it was a few things. I didn't feel the bone before my jaw move but I did feel the my jaw shift in slightly and make a click if I opened my mouth too wide or just slightly. It's sorta difficult for me to explain. This video helped because it stopped the clicking I'd feel when I opened my mouth slightly. When I tried this method it felt amazing after one good tap. But I still had clicking if I opened too wide so his part 2 of the video helped as well. Using both techniques has pretty much ended the problems. And if I do experience it again doing either of the exercises, depending on when I experience the click, helps. Probably not explaining this properly. Hope it provided clarity though!

    27. Right jaw tight. I think the cause of it is that I've been holding jaw in awkward weird position for ages. Because holding my phone while gaming in bed. And total lack of sleep with Brain/eyes awake resulted in tightness over time. Whole holding jaw in awkward position gaming. Honestly I think can't think what else. Had some things to chew, chicken. That's it. Honestly sounds pretty spot on. Resulting in muscle spasm/tightness. Also taking ashwagandha. And that could be cause as well.

    Diagnosis first. You'll need some imaging, preferably an MRI. If you want to eliminate the clicking, there are often ways that are effective, but it will likely require an examination and analysis of what you do with your jaw when you sing. If you hope to eliminate the noises using conservative, non-surgical methods, your jaw movement patterns related to speech and singing will have to be deprogrammed, and then re-learned piece-by-piece. Gathering the data and getting a lay of the land is the first step. Your vocal coach (if you have one) can guide you as to how your jaw muscles should feel when you project your voice. Hint: they should be relaxed. Your throat muscles, and neck muscles, should also be relaxed. These methods will take time, but the result will be long-lasting, and there no physical risks as with surgical methods.

    I don’t know if I have a clicking jaw, but I keep moving my jaw from left to right repeatedly to go from small “snaps” to a large snap/crack, then I don’t move my jaw for a while until I feel the urge to do so again. Once I start moving my jaw I don’t feel comfortable stopping until I’ve been able to get that large snap/crack. I don’t know if this is anything special or just a bad habit of mine.

  • @BuffaloTMJ

    @BuffaloTMJ

    5 жыл бұрын

    Sure sounds like a clicking jaw! Best to have someone examine your jaw, and determine what exactly is making the clicking and snapping. It is likely that the condyle is off the disc in your normal habitual closed (bite) position, and your body feels it has to "snap" the jaw to get things lined back up so the joints can function properly. It's not necessarily a bad habit. Rather, I would say it's your body trying to tell you something isn't right.

Overtime it changed and when i open my mouth, the right side doesn't just move downwards, it moves outside/away from my face (huge bone bump right before the ear). It makes my face look off and wider on the right side. Everytime i chew food i'm anxious people will stare at my face getting freaking wide on one side. I had facial pain for a while but i thought that were the after effects of Bell Palsy paralysis that i also got a few years back. My jaw has popped for as long as I remember. But it’s when I open my mouth almost all the way. It just causes pain when I have to hold it open for long periods of time. Like at the dentist

    I don’t usually feel pain when I crack my jaw. I saw my mom do it and just moved my jaw the same way she did until I made my first crack and from that day on, I kept doing it and it became so addicting, couldn’t resist how satisfying that pop was so I cracked my jaw every one minute or so for five years straight. Now, it really changed my face shape 😭 the jaw is uneven, and from what i used to have, a sharp jawline with a diamond shaped face, now it’s an uneven, round face with less definition and lower cheekbones. I really wish there was a way to reverse my jaw to the way it used to be. I think i may have over cracked my jaw for too long 😭😭😭😭

    I’m only 14, but this has been happening since I was 13. Whenever I would talk or eat, a loud pop sound would sound out and even my sister would get annoyed because she could hear it. I’ve been getting a chiropractor to work on it for a couple months but it still continues. I’m getting slightly worried now because when I eat food my jaw would lock in place on every bite. I have looked up everything about it, and I’ve been extra careful about eating and talking a lot. I rarely chew hard foods and eat stuff that require minimal effort to chew. I hope this works. Thanks for making this video!

    Hello Sir, I have the clicking from past 6-7 months. Earlier it was not that frequent but as time passed , the sound is getting more louder and the jaw is getting locked. I don't have any pain. Doctor told me to try out surgery , if you are having pain. I don't want to have surgery. I will definitely try out your exercise , and hope for the better results.

    The right side of my jaw started clicking after I got my wisdom teeth extracted. It’s been a very rough recovery. I feel like it’s getting worse. Towards the end of each jaw my face and jaw starts to feel really stiff and tense. I’ve tried many exercises but none of them work.
