Thank you for showimg all of us novice fisherman how to make some good steelhead bait. Its also the best bait for kokanee land locked salmon. Especially here in utah in the nothern region deep Lakes. i love how you break down the entire process ASH its always awesome watching your videos whether its fishing or informational videos like this one. Question for you ash. Can a person just use borax and food grade flavoring or are thier certain things in the zilla cure best for the eggs.

Just finished vid, fantastic video! Do you do anything special packing them in the jars, and did you say they will keep in the "freezer" for a year?? Second question, how long will they keep in the refrigerator?? Thank you

I just pack them tight so that when i twist the lid down, the air gets squeezed out and minimizes oxygen contact with the eggs. They'll keep a week or so in the fridege after thawing them out.

Nope - just the cure! Sometimes I'll add some NW bait scent salmon or garlic juice on em just to jazz em up a bit, but nothing extra in the cure itself. You can get some of the scent in the links in the description!

@@BadAshOutdoors do you get em fresh and not frozen? I live in Northern Ca, 20 miles from the Oregon border, so true Nor Cal. I buy mine from Sunrise Baits in Oregon and they come from Alaska, frozen. Just looking for different options.
