HOW TO CURE A SWAY (Do This Anywhere)

Спорт

In this tip I'm going to teach you how to cure a sway. Once you fix a sway you will hit the ball longer and and more consistent than ever with both irons and driver.
If you don't know a sway is one of the worst flaws in golf. This is as you do you backswing you end up on the outside edge of the back foot. From this faulty position it is very difficult to start the lower body first in the downswing.
Without using your lower body you will hit with your arms which is not how to do an effortless golf swing. Once you learn how to cure a sway which you can literally work on anywhere you will feel the weight load on your instep and be in a powerful position to start the downswing with the legs and hips allowing the arms to follow.
To work on this just bring your phone to the range with you and watch my how to cure a sway golf tip so you can copy exactly what I am showing in this tip. Once you know what to work on you can do this anywhere. You don't even need a club to learn it.

    Paul your creating problems with my game, I'm a golfer with a solid 18 handicap that has recently retired and joined a league, after discovering your videos a couple of months ago my scores have dropped about 8 strokes, needless to say I have won my flight 3 weeks in a row and everyone thinks I was sandbagging on my handicap, I would like to thank you for your great video instructions and the problems that they may cause! Keep up the good work.

    Hey Paul, I love your work, you're the number one teacher in the world in my opinion. One issue that's been overlooked in golf teaching literature, is the early extension (i.e. "humping the goat", i.e not turning the lead hip backward as the trail hip rotates forward, causing the upper body to rise and promoting an, out to in, weak slice). In my collection of golf instruction books, (I own 200+ works dating from over the last 100 years), I cannot find a single discussion or drill on this, yet I see 90% of my fellow amateurs suffer from it. Can you help? Thanks, Marcus

  • @paulwilsongolf

    @paulwilsongolf

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for your support. I appreciate it. Early extension is tricky. I fixed one student in 5 mins. Just told him to focus on his right leg and keep it bent throughout the whole swing. If you are jumping up the leg would straighten. Keep it bent and you can 't jump (early extend) do a before and after and if it works for you I will do a tip on it.

    Paul, I never thought I would try to use my shadow to cure a swing problem; playing when I see my shadow has always been disturbing, espacialy on certain courses. My sway problem, on the coiling part of the swing, is managable & I mostly do what you suggested to another viewer & concetrate on my right leg to stay bent. My problem with swaying is on the uncoiling part or the take down portion of the swing. Since using my shadow in this situation would probably made me hit a bad shot (hey, I found another excuse for my missed shots:), is there a simple drill I could try? Thank's for your suggestions on a previous post!

    Paul, good tips.... also, when I practiced, it looks like that, for backswing, I use my shoulders and chest to drive my hips to the top of backswing. For downswing, in order to prevent my hips turning too fast, I use abs to drive my hips and legs to swing. My arms are powerless and total passive from the top of backswing to the impact. Is it correct? Thanks
