Very easy to follow , thanks a bunch
Thank you for the video, I used one string of yarn to make the lanyard for surgical mask. The width for using 1 string is the right size for me.
Incredibly easy and sturdy. Wsh I had used this instead of I cord. Thanks

At last I get it! thanks for explaining so well!
J Took Moonlight Creations sent me to learn your cord. Amazingly he's only been crocheting for 6 weeks & is already designed a bag. Which is where he used your tutorial for the cord. Thanks for this tutorial I'm hoping to use it on a future bag.

Thanks for sharing, I Love learn g new things. What size hook? I want to make this a little bigger. The 3.5mm is too skinny lol
love the vid about the cord but how do you attach it? I don't have internet at home at the moment so please send me a link when you've made a vid.
I always use the deep-slotted crochet hooks such as Susan Bates. It saves a lot of steps. Try it, you’ll like it!! (They also don’t split the yarn when using softer stranded yarns).

It may not work for you but it looks we have a similar styles of holding our hook although it’s a big different when doing demos but I like that I never drop my thread/yarn and don’t split yarns because I’ve caught the thread and not had to fudge a bit while grabbing each stitch.

Linda K That’s interesting. I find Susan Bates splits my yarn. 🙂

Make & Do Crew I have such trouble with Susan Bates hooks. I learned on a normal hook 49 years ago and can’t seem to make SB hooks work.
thank you
Amei 😍😘
How do we finish it tho?
I love the color of the yarn. How many strands are used to crochet the cord strap? Thank you.
Would you please do a tutorial on your street boho purse I don't read patterns as probably a lot of people do not.

Thank you for asking I cant figure out to read these patterns,,
Thanks for this tutorial! Very useful, I was in need of a cord for a purse that I was working on!!!
Could this cord be used for a drawstring scrubs' bag? I ran out of cord. Thank you!
just to make sure when I double the yarn I will have 4 loops to go under correct?
Does "clockwise for righties" also mean "top away from you"? 🤷🏿♀️ Seems to work for me, but I wanted to be sure!
Is there a video for the bag? I have a big hole where the beginning ch 3 space is on the final few rows. I saw other people having the same issue.
I'm curious: are you intending to do a yarn under in your sc? Is there a reason you are using yu instead of yo as normal?
Great video. So easy to do but too narrow for my bag. Is there a way of making the cord wider?

More than one strand together
wow that was so cool! pretty cord too!!! this will be perfect for my projects! thank you so much!!! btw thanks for a short opeing. i hate it when a video tutorial is 10 minutes long because the intro takes 7 minutes! i dont subscribe to a lot because of that. anyway.... COOL stitch! thanks so much! youve made a subscriber today!
I’m still trying to find the tutorial to this boho shoulder bag. Please can you share the link.
Hello I was wondering how exactly you’d do the two strands together? Like just fold the yarn? I’m very confused about this part
@CreativeExpress87
Жыл бұрын
One easy way is to take a strand from the outside of the skein and another from the center and use them together. The two strands will twist together at the skein so you'll have to regularly untwist them by rotating the skein though.
Do you think this would work for bathing suit ties using 1 strand method??
❤
I notice that you finish your single crochet by putting your hook behind the yarn vs the yarn behind the hook. Does that make a difference? Thanks.

Haha, no it doesn't. And I didn't even know I was doing it wrong until about six months ago. I'm working on retraining myself now! The result is the same, but I don't want to confuse people in the videos. :)

LOL - no worries! I am self-taught, so I tend to watch how others crochet. I have noticed some people chain then turn, while others turn then chain. Appreciate the response!

Maryann K There are KZread videos comparing yarn over vs yarn under. It makes a difference in what a stitch looks like (not from a distance or casual glance) but more importantly, the gauge. I think yarning over is the correct way, from chaining to other stitches. 🙂 Happy crocheting! (I think Make & Do Crew should charge a nominal fee for the very chic patterns she creates.)
When I go to your makeanddocrew site and try to click on a pattern, I get some weird advertisement and don't seem to find the actual pattern. Can you help?
And how do we add it to the bag? Just tie it?
Anyone know what hook size and how to attach?
So I tried this and it didn’t look anything like that plus the stitches were very tight no matter what size hook I used... I’m pretty sure the yarn over/yarn under will effect this- I always yarn over.
But how does one attache it? Newbie here! 👋🏼😇
My cord is coming out flat and not twisting. I am Turing clockwise. Any advice?
What is the size of your hook?
@user-Elle41

You might want to use the hook recommended for the yarn you use.
Could I use wool cos I don't have Cotton?
@makedocrew1717
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Elizabeth, sure! You'll need it to be a similar weight to the cotton used in the pattern, which is a category 3 weight. I'd def check your gauge with whatever wool you use to make sure you'll end up with a sweater that fits you. :)
