How to create space for the queen bee to lay more eggs and prevent the colony becoming honey-bound

When we leave our bees unchecked for long periods of time they sometimes they go into full nectar collecting mode and start to fill every cell in the hive. As a result, the queen has very few cells to lay in and the population of bees starts to decrease. This can result in total colony collapse and/or absconding. When you open a hive and there's no bees, only waxmoth and what looks like white webs or hive beetle larvae.. This could be the result of a colony that became honey-bound and died out. In this video we show how prevent this and manage your bees to create laying space for the queen and maintain large, healthy honeybee populations.

What did you do with the frames that you removed? It did not look like they were ready to extract.

Hi. We use those frames in weaker colonies to boost them or we use the uncapped honey for making mead.
