  • @darrickkeels6387

    @darrickkeels6387

    Yeah you can. In the video I went to the timbre parameters tab and went to MIDI and changed everything channel to 01G so that you could play every sound from the Kronos. However you can change each instrument to whatever channel you wish. For example, if you don't change channel to 01G it can be triggered by another keyboard if that keyboard is set to play channel number 2.

    Darrick, I didn't watch or listen to the entire tutorial yet ;). I have already created my own Combis, layers, splits. My BIG question is, "During performance, HOW does one know WHERE the splits are?" I mean, other than using my own brainpower memory? Seems to me it should be LIT UP just above the keys with a colored line or something that would help prevent accidentally playing in the wrong area at the wrong time ;). I have multiple splits for some songs. A couple of songs I even made a 'part 1' and a 'part 2', Two different Combis for a song. Am I going to have to make some cheap looking pain in the rear paper thing for each song? HOPE NOT!! I have had a Kronos for 8 years or so. I just bought a 2nd one so I don't have to lug it to rehearsals. I only have the older models, not a Kronos2, if it makes a difference. One is a Kronos X. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • @darrickkeels6387

    @darrickkeels6387

    2 жыл бұрын

    Unfortunately there are no lights or anything that tells you during a performance where your splits are. The only thing you can do is add notes in your set list to give you a reminder of where things are split to jog your memory before a song begins.

    This keyboard sounds great,but I think,there’s too much menu work for me,I’m not technical,any advice on a keyboard with great and versatile sounds that’s not quite so technical?

  • @darrickkeels6387

    @darrickkeels6387

    4 жыл бұрын

    Actually yes. A Nord has far less menu diving but you cannot have a backing track with drums and a bass play with you following your chords. I would recommend an arranger keyboard like the Korg PA4x-61 or Yamaha's Genos if you want something you can record on and have it follow your chords. Any workstation on the market today is going to have menu diving. The Roland Fantom, FA-08, Kurzweil etc all have multiple windows to navigate. Even the performance synths like the Yamaha Montage and MODX is going to be lots of menus to access the deep parameters.

  • @darrickkeels6387

    @darrickkeels6387

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@robertmichalscheck3072 You certainly could do something like that. People often ask me why I have more than one keyboard. It is because no keyboard is "perfect." Weighted keys are "perfect" for piano playing but not so much fun if your gig requires mainly organ and synth sounds. Menu diving is a great method for editing really deep parameters but not so much fun if you want to simply tweak sounds "on the fly." Heavy keyboards feel super sturdy and are a joy to play but a pain to carry up and down steps and through crowded hallways etc. I would personally buy the keyboard that suits your most important needs. And then if there are things you desire beyond that you can add more pieces gradually.

    Don’t understand why korg kronos only has polyphony of 200?some cheaper keyboards have more,like this Roland I just got with unlimited polyphony I believe.

  • @darrickkeels6387

    @darrickkeels6387

    4 жыл бұрын

    The Kronos polyphony is different based on the sound engine you are using. The SGX-2 Piano sound engine has 400 mono voices or 100 dual stereo voices. The CX-3 Organ Sound engine has 200 voices. The PolysixEX has 180 voices, while the STR-1 has only a maximum of 40 voices. Roland's V-Piano engine has unlimited polyphony but there SuperNatural sound engine is 128-polyphony or if you are using the new "Zen-core" engine it is "up to" 256-voices, depending on which sound you are using. No keyboard on the market has unlimited polyphony for every sound. 200 stereo voices is plenty of polyphony in actual use. Every single note an 88-Key keyboard can sound at the same time and you would still have polyphony to spare. That is kind of hard to do. Unless you are playing the most complicated classical pieces ever composed. Then I would recommend a Dexibell if that is what you play. But Dexibell doesn't have good horns, brass, pads, etc. They are truly catered more to those who play classical or traditional jazz piano.
