I know this video is "old" but I have watched it several times and finally gave this a try. I don't work with gel, EVER, and this was definitely challenging for me, but Melissa provides such clear, detailed instructions that I nailed it by my third try! Its really made me rethink my stance against using gel and knocked my self-doubt back a bit. Thanks for the video and thanks for being such a great instructor, Melissa! ♥️

Now that I am working in a salon, I am constantly going back to review old YN videos to sharpen skills. It's amazing to me how much more I understand certain things now that I encounter so much on a daily basis. The tip that Melissa gave about bringing in the natural nail so you don't have to form out wider just to fit the widest part of their free edge just blew my mind. That tip is so amazing not to mention everything else I'm getting from this video. Again I find myself in awe with everything I learn from young nails. I'm going to OWC Acrylic next month and I'm overwhelmed with excitement!

195!? I choked on my drink! You have the skills and are worth the price because you’re amazing and talented! I’m learning how to do my own nails and it’s not easy especially because I’m c6/7 quadriplegic.

@melissa please show us how to finish file this type of design. I would LOVE to do more with encapsulations, but always find I file too aggressively. Some tips and tricks would be AMAZING!!

I'd love to see these done with acrylic! (I'd say "if you can", but let's be real, y'all ace whatever you try 😉) I'm super curious how you'd do all the layers differently, if at all!

You could do it in acrylic as well. Just keep your layers really thin. Add black acrylic very thin where you would like it. Add your mylar, glitter and confetti into clear acrylic. For the light Milky Way use YN natural acrylic. Thank happier entire nail with clear acrylic! 😉💅🏻✨

I love that the techs actually discuss the pricing of their fabulous services!! For one thing, that scratches the curiosity itch of people like me😆. Secondly, by giving us an experts approximate price point to use as a guide, I feel like it not only helps other techs figure out their own pricing guide for these time intensive services…but it also genuinely helps people to avoid being taken advantage of, by less than honest salons/techs! ❤️ I’m not personally in a place to spend $200+ on gorgeous nails at this point in my life…but I absolutely understand the price point for these beauties!

Absolutely stunning. I'd happily pay $195.00 for that set. I've been learning gels, encapsulated designs and now I'm going to practice your techniques with the hope I can do that style.
