    I just found you! My mother had passed about a year and a half ago. I recently got her stuff out of storage. I found a big picnic type basket and inside I found sooo many doilies! I thought about selling them. Now I know exactly what to do with them. A nice memorial hanging.

    Patty this is an ambitious project. Such a dramatic statement piece. Truly enjoyed watching you create this project. I will have to keep my eyes open for some dolies. I have only one, and it is oblong(3x10 inches) and I can't visualize how it could be incorporated. I can see it as a central piece above the stick, but not such what to use as a rectangle ”hoop”. Peace

  • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts

    @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts

    It would be hard to find a frame that is 3x10. Maybe you could make a basic frame and glue your doily to the edges. I can visualize great options for your rectangle doily!

    Thks Carolyn. I design as I go and I did indeed change my mind a few times on this one. So saying that it is really hard to give you a time frame for completion. The doilies are fast and it depends on how much macrame you want for the fringe, how many feathers you want to make and how many hoops you are using. I could do a guesstimate of between 3-5 hours.

    Can you use 3 strand rope or does it have to be 4?

  • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts

    @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts

    4 жыл бұрын

    When you are doing macrame and forming square knots, it is best to have 4 strands for each row of knots. It makes the knot look complete. If for some reason you don’t have enough strands then you could form your square knots by just having 1 strand in the middle instead of 2 to form your square knot.

    Sorry about that. I bought the doilies from second hand shops and some of them had holes and were worn in places so I thought I had made good use of them. But I understand what you are saying. Tatting and crocheting doilies is very beautiful and time consuming. I’m sure you have made some beautiful doilies.
