RK3 Designs is a learning studio focused on teaching how to create beautiful epoxy finishes using Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy. These tutorials include epoxy countertops for kitchens, bathrooms, and much more. This channel provides tutorials for DIYers, contractors, designers, or artists.
Rhonda Dracoulis Founder and Primary Instructor
RK3 Designs started as a way for Rhonda to showcase her creativity but has blossomed into a way to help others find theirs. Her obsession with painting led her to start refinishing furniture and kitchen cabinets. She found customers wanted a nicer option than laminate but more affordable and customizable than natural stone, which lead her to countertop epoxy! Since then, she’s helped thousands of students, from across the country (and even Canada eh?).

rk3designs.com || Should I make it a dark, light or exotic finish?

I would do one side dark and the other side light. Make a separate sample board as exotic, would be ideal.

I love your exotic finishes ! The colors are so unique !
This is awesome! I would like to see a combination of dark and exotic.
Very nice, looking forward to part 2, I agree with the lady’s comment earlier. I’d like to see you combine all 3 finishes, but which ever you decide I’m sure it will turn out beautiful
Thank you Rhonda. I’d like to see a grey tone wood grain texture.
Dark finish, looks so real!
So fun! I like the lighter with a little Rhonda teal touch.
These rollers are amazing. I’ve ordered several from Jenn.
An awesome look…. Looks great!👊
Looking forward to part 2! I’d love to see shades of red orange brown and yellow. Where can I get the texture medium from?
I would like to see the dark with some exotic boards here and there in the piece
Hi Rhonda! I love the gray wood colors. I am so glad I found your awesome videos. :)

Hi Rhonda, great work as usual. I am currently putting in a new kitchen with a light honey grain finish. I would love to see what combination you could do with that and exotic. Cheers Marie ‘downunder’ 😀😀
Hi ! I will be refinishing my kitchen countertops. Looking for a white pickled effect. Thanks Jeanne
That looks awesome!! 👏👏 I'm a bit odd, but I would love to see a finish that hints toward rainbow wood. 🌈 There are actual trees that the wood resembles rainbow colors. I don't know how functional the wood is for projects and I would hope it is protected. I believe Hawaii has some. They are gorgeous, but I've only seen them on video or pictures.

Oh wow. I’ll have to check it out.
dark finish 😊
Hey Rhonda, I’m going to put panels on our homes interior flat wood doors and I haven’t decided if I want a whitewash or straight up white paint. I’d love to see how you would do this in a whitewash. PS. Love me a 2 part series. ❤

Oh wow. Sounds cool. Let me think about that.
I’d like to see a light finish 👍🏻
I would really like to see a light finish. I'm thinking white-washed for a "casual beachy" look...
Looking forward to Part 2 anyway the link can be placed into this video? Fun work
💥
Kove this I would love to see an Exotic finish.

can this technique be done on a cement floor??
Light
Hi Rhonda what is the material called that you use to put down first on the wood? I cannot find a link to it anywhere and i'm trying to do a faux wood look on my stairs. Thank you!
Exotic. Question…. If you were to apply this technique to living room wall shelves, could you use Jenn’s Metallic Texture Medium? I have 3/4 gal and would rather use it than buying more. Plus, if you are putting other products on, it won’t show. I was thinking about tinting the medium. I need to end up with mostly black + teal, gray. Can’t wait to see the next video!

Absolutely you can use that. 😊😊
Ronda, what is the ETA of part 2? This may be the answer I am looking for my kitchen cupboards. I'm chomping at the bit waiting to see what your edges look like using MDF. My boxes are 3/4" birch plywood, the plan is to use a frameless design, and this would likely be awesome. Additionally, I'm thinking river table countertops in addition. Just have to completely figure out what I'm doing.

I’m in South Carolina until Wednesday night. Hope to be able to video it on Thursday or Friday and then get it edited. So probably by the weekend. 😊
Sorry I didn’t see the link. What kind of sander did you use for the edges? Thank you rhonda
@RK3Designs

You can use an orbital sander, but I usually just hand sand them so I don’t get too aggressive.

@@RK3Designs have you ever done a cow print pour on countertops or furniture? I really want to do one but I want you to be the ginnie pig, lol. But if you have I would D love to see your technique. I am waiting for Jenn to come out with a cowhide print foil. 😀
How about all 3! Dark, white wash and exotic!

You can brush lightly or even use a vacuum. 😊😊
Can you make it look like purple heartwood?

@@RK3Designs It is gorgeous wood that is usually made into small things because it is so precious. Wyrmwood makes some gorgeous dice boxes out of it and other lovely woods.
A Light finish
Light finish please. The other guys do nothing but darks. Your lights set you apart,
