Login to Google Sites to see your Websites listed in the home page. Click on the 3 dots icon in the bottom right corner of the Website and select Remove.

Anybody can download a creation for free but if you want to publish it and use it you have to pay a huge amount for web hosting, if it is genuine otherwise you will scammed. So be careful.

It can be an issue related to SSL certificate and security, but I don't have the expertise to comment on that. My websites are hosted in GoDaddy and Hostinger and they have SSL certificates.
