    Awesome job explaining. I'm a newer homeowner and I have done 0 landscaping. Have a tree like that in my front yard and wanted to do a tree ring. Super helpful. I think I want to put some perennials to fill in that space between the ring and tree...we'll see how that goes.

    Great video man. I'm new to the landscaping world. I cut out a huge bush I my front yard. Turned out that the trunk was completely hollow. I decided to put a red brick tree in and I'm going to use the hollow stump as a kind of natural "flower pot." I love the choice of stone. Looks great in your yard!

    I believe this is the best way to do a tree ring. It will be easier to adjust as the tree grows.

  • @FoxRivers778
    @FoxRivers778 Жыл бұрын

    I am making a tree ring because nature basically made my tree bed with bare dirt and roots under the tree. I am here to learn how to level the area on where the pavestones will go. Also I am a super fan of rubber mulch nuggets instead of wood mulch. It basically levels itself, is a very good weed preventer so fabric is really not necessary, and best of all you don't have to replenish it any where near as often as wood mulch.

    Since the wood mulch deteriorates in 1-2 years, the bricks will all settle down to the ground. May as well save the mulch for the center. I see you left space in the middle around the tree which was not covered with landscaping fabric. This is what most people get wrong, I think. The tree needs water and the fabric is often hydrophobic. Leaving a hole is smart. If you don't do that, the tree roots will all come to the surface of the lawn for their water. Then you get break your mower on the tree roots. Instead of fabric though you can just dig 4-6" down. Leave the top 2" exposed to air. Oxygen will prevent root growth into the area naturally. But the mulch will be deep enough to prevent weeds.

    I don’t see those stones staying put for long, the mulch will break down in a year and those stones will settle, compacted gravel or even sand would be better than bark chips. Concrete would be the best way to do it. Don’t bury your root flare or the tree will suffer to breathe

    Missing quick crete. Need to bind your pavers so they don't sink also adds strength. I use a zero turn mower and sometimes bump my retaining wall 😎. For the extra 20$ its well worth adding the crete bag especially if your in canada the snow/thaw will move your pavers over time..Also if your adding a row for height use a PL premium masonry adhesive. Good job tho peewee looks clean.

    Wow man great job! I Juan, owner of JMB Lawn just finished a job similar to this except it was a rectangular flower bed. Also I would do that job for 300-500 and client buys materials. But that's just me, your prices could be different. I take pride in this work and people will always want quality work so I expect to be taken care of. If it increases the value of the property then it's worth the money.
