    Thank you for sharing Annie! ❤This is a very interesting technique that I'll try. It's all very different from when I was growing up, my mom painted/stained, re-upholstered items to extend their lives.... but this look 😍

    First off, I love your hair up like that! Lol! Been painting furniture for about 7 years now, and just loving it! Amazing what a global trend you started, and how exciting and unique and fun and fabulous we can make furniture and many other things! I think my favourite colour is your Aubusson Blue, but there are so many to choose from! I love this technique and am going to suggest we do it to a friend's old hope chest, since she's thinking of painting it.👍

    I like the final look of this middle ground. I do though enjoy washes in many colours but this wax idea is fun to see. And that chest that you painted. That piece of wood is something my husband would love. Great to see you posting here again. PS: I recently made a prep station for my kitchen with open shelves and used your chalk paint. Just lovely. I love adding water, I love the thickness. I just love it. Cheers & Happy Painting, Ivy PPS: I also now ONLY use brushes when I paint walls. You have changed my method and approach and for that, I can't say thank you enough. Goodbye rollers, hello brushes.

    I love how you work with such ease, almost casually and with confidence. I was watching a previous video --painting fabric with a stencil when my phone went crazy and I lost it. I don't know where these tutorials of yours have been hiding, or even how they turned up, but I'm thrilled that they did. The finish with the wet wax is beautiful. Most of all, what I'm learning , just from the two videos I've seen, is daring to experiment. I can't wait to see more from the woman who started it all. 🙏🙏❤️❤️

    I have chalk painted the fabric backs of my chairs and they turned out great. The issue I am having is waxing is leaving white marks on the fabric. Do you have any suggestions how to fix this? The fabric is texture and has a raised pile. Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Annie …Iv been using your calk paint for years now revamping furniture ..I have an open pine stairs case to do , which has gone that horrible orange colour ..I have painted the rails Paris grey and used white on the very first rail . what would be best to use on the steps ..plus how can I protect them whilst I wait for the seal in coat to completely set ? ..they are really slippy at the moment as the previous owner varnished them ..which I find very dangerous …I would really appreciate any advice you can give me ..thank you ..

    I wish there was a good medium out there for crackle,,,, not just school glue, or carpenter's glue ,something really designated for beautiful crackle that always works , a science of glue I know ,, when I have painted glue over paint in just patches here and there, heavy and lite brush strokes then leave almost dry or very tacky,,,then paint my next coat of paint over that very carefully I mean very carefully as not to drag the glue to much,,,, it does crackle ,but the trick is that the top paint can't dry properly over the glue and then separates away , causing crackling,,,, so calling it finally all cracked up,, years ago I had a product from Ralph Lauren for crackling but can't find it since , maybe with your inside connections and success can find a way of doing such a product, using just school glues or carpenters glue, to runny ,,,but never really thick enough to apply the patches of designated areas on pieces that would look authentic to crackling from the sun,,,,,,,,,,need a glue thicker heavier to stick to the piece,,,to really get that effect of old age crackling,and partner up to your formula paints,,, sorry for the long comment, but really need a good crackling medium, thankyou darling for your videos,

    With an oil based wax behind this wash, how does the top layers not come off when you touch?

  • @AnnieSloanHome

    Hello Vanessa, good question! Chalk Paint is different from other paints as it does not contain polymers that are resisted by wax, so it literally melts into the wax.

  • @AnnieSloanHome

    @AnnieSloanHome

    Жыл бұрын

    If you've done the technique over the whole piece it probably has enough wax on it without need for further sealing. Annie suggests leaving it to fully dry, probably until the next day, and the gently rubbing it with a lint free cloth to polish up the finish. At this point you can add another layer of Clear Wax if you wanted further protection.

    Probably a problem underneath the paint, bad surfase that is to greasy or wood that contains oils?

    So… you apply water based paint over oil based wax and expect that paint to stay and be securely adhered?

  • @magicgordo4878

    Could this same effect be accomplished using regular paint and plain furniture wax? The brush used to apply the wax looks like it would make a great shaving brush less the wax of course.
