How to Create a Slot Machine In Excel | Play Slots at Work!
In this video, we’ll have some fun with Excel and learn some neat skills along the way to learn how to create a slot machine in Excel.
My plan is to use Excel to create a basic 3 reel slot machine using the following excel skills:
✔️ Creating random Numbers
✔️ The RANDBETWEEN and VLOOKUP functions
✔️ Conditional logic
✔️And Cell formatting
This is quite easy to replicate so you can make your own slot machine in excel to keep you entertained while you are "working". Haha. I won't tell anyone.
If you want to take this Excel slot machine simulator to another level, you can:
✔️ Add more reels
✔️ Add more possible outcomes per reel
✔️ Use conditional statements to generate winning amounts

I haven't looked at that video in some time. But I'd imagine you'd need to add more options/symbols and then update any randbetweens and vlookups to account for the additional options.

You could use VB and/or a macro to create a button to save you from having to do shift+F9

This was AWESOME!! I am computer (''stupid'') but this was really cool. I could build a frame for a real slot machine but the mechanics of it umm NOPE lol. 💪😀
How do you make it add winning values? I have an idea to us this at work but I would like it to calculate wins.

Hi there! If I understand your question correctly (forgive me if I don't), you'd like to track the total number of wins (i.e. someone runs the slot machine 100 times, you'd like to know how many wins they had)?

Or ... are you looking to show a $ value or a result? For example, 3 of one symbol = $10 win, 3 of a different symbol = $100 win.
Does this only work with fonts/Wingdings? I am trying to use images but can't get it to work

Using fonts is the easiest method. However, you can use images, it's just has a few more steps. I'll create a video to show how to reference images in Excel - which could be used in the Slot Machine simulator.

I suppose you could build the slot machine on the online version of Excel and share the file with others.
