LOVELY!. I restored antiques for 25 years, someone asked me " Doesn't it bother you to see all the KZreadrs painting old furniture?" I said " Heck no!! they breathe new life into something destined for the landfill, I've seen to many gorgeous pieces end up there, and us restorers just can't save them all!".. I told another KZreadr the other day, you all worry to much about those who type negative things like what to paint or not to paint, how to paint.. can you just imagine some "know it all" telling an artist like Leonardo da Vinci how to paint the Mona Lisa's smile or Michelangelo on how to paint or mix his colors to paint the Sistine Chapel??.. just leave people alone to express their art the way they see fit and shut up.. sorry..LOL.. but it's true!

Jonathon, I totally agree with your opinion on leaving the ornate features of this chair alone, without embellishment. That said, I love the dark wax application as it highlights very subtly. Great job, as usual, Jonathon! Thank you for sharing your lovely talents!!

Yes, it’s very rare for me to use any metallics, probably because they just wouldn’t of been there on certain items

Yes, I think these chairs were definitely designed just for show. It may just sit in the corner of the bedroom looking pretty

What color did you used in the price next to the chair

I have significantly better luck using a toothbrush to create flyspeck.
