God after so much CS2 content I have never been so excited for a CS1 episode! I find it just so much prettier, even if it's a little more cartoony. Looove the city circle and all the asset placement.

Did anyone else notice, in the view from the airport-downtown interchange, how the shape of the downtown mirrors the mountains behind? what a great coincidental detail! 36:29 is the timestamp edit: the view down the mainstreet does the same! timestamp 36:03

FewCandy: the Queen of Skylines! Honestly love this so much. Super dynamic and good-looking skyline with plenty of interest, paying attention to sightlines and also giving some breathing room between the towers. The aesthetic is amazing with this huge dense downtown round the major roundabout rather than just grids. It gives all the buildings different orientations and creates some really interesting vistas. Absolutely superb work!

I enjoy the challenge of working in vanilla; there's definitely more thought and planning that you have to put in to a layout.* I think you made it work very well. This is a great looking downtown. How about a Cultural District with some of the museum and theater assets? (*of course, I'm a console player so I don't really have much choice in the matter 🤷‍♂😆)

Those pedestrian roads make such a difference, and the cims love using them too! I was a bit concerned at the lack of parks and plazas pre detailing timelapse but the combo of assets and manually detailed bits is great!

The sad thing about this build, which has been amazing, is I know it is going to end. There is something special about vanilla CS. I am sure one day we will all love CS2 just as much - fingers crossed.

Amazing build FC! The skyline the detailing! It so nice to see CS1 vids again. I have such an appreciation for it. Im loving the CS2 builds, but with the lack of detailing and minimal assets, I can see alot of series stalling out soon. Hopefully the creator packs start coming out soon.

Luv the new downtown. The peaks of the towers blend in great with the mountain ranges behind them too, from certain angles (like from ground level of the main collector). Top work !!!

I’ve recently been working on the “old” part of my downtown and have had decent success with just the vanilla Commercial, High Density Commercial, and Office zoning (on PS4) It’s painful, I have to zone one building at a time, and play whack-a-mole until I get the specific asset I want, but the end result has been worth it. Even some of the level 1 and 2 assets are decent, but waiting for the correct level 3 asset can be a real chore. By themselves, a lot of the buildings are a bit fugly, but once they’re all together, it actually looks pretty good for an older area of downtown. I’ve mostly used everything 3x3, 3x4, 4x3, and 4x4, with a handful of smaller stuff to fill gaps. Most of the buildings are between 4 and 8 floors, and a lot of them fit together wall to wall quite well. Along one side, I’ve got a rail line running behind the buildings, using a paved walking path and the Airport fence, I was able to make a really nice back ally that faces the rail line. Used a lot of the recycling bins from the Plazas and Promenades, along with some repurposed benches and kiosks (can stack them together, the have good collision mechanics, and you can make them look like boxes and sheds) to detail up the back ally, and it turned out really cool looking.

Stoked for the gentrified industrial area on the horizon. Also, FC, spectacular downtown build! You continue to astound us. As mentioned in anther comment, situating CBD on a roundabout adds a dynamic that a rectilinear grid simply cannot. Well done!

Oh how I miss CS1. I'm sure the modding community, DLCs etc will eventually bring CS2 to new heights, but so far it's just not the same. Lovely to be back in Fewnilla County!

Love the end result, the detailing really brought it together!

Beautiful as always. Downtown skyscrapers always scare me!

Loving the downtown vibe, amazing use of awkward apaces indeed. One suggestion, flip the 1st placed glass archway 180* (degrees). Currently it looks like its very close and overshadowing the library, flipping it could give it and downtown a grander entrance.

I really enjoyed that. I know you felt adverse to building around a circle in vanilla again, you really pulled it of. Using the 6 lane one way road is challenging but you executed really well, just by taking inspiration from Paris I assume. I'm looking forward to see how the area around the transit hub develops. I think part of the city centre could do with an old town using European Vanilla assets.

Looks great Few. As a centrepiece it's going to look really great.

I was thinking of the Six Rivers Centre, too, as the tallest in the city, love the look of this Few!

Thanks for this! A bit overloaded with CS2 at the minute - so many series and so little assets so its a bit samey on the CS front at the moment. Love this skyline, it looks good from all angles!

Beautiful design! But isn't a bit odd to have such a downtown in a city of 35,000 people? I would expect this in a city of one million.

I like the skyline, but I am not fond of the last big roof in front of the statue of industry, that thing is really taking away from the views on the statue and looks out of place to me. In regards to stuff to built close to the center: something with a lot of water and life right next to the skyscrapers might be worth to consider, even though the options for that are limited in vanilla. Maybe something from the parklife-zoo, that could be its own thing, together with a nice museum or other clearly cultural feature?

Now I feel CS is batter than CS2

It took me around 30 seconds to realize this is not Cities Skylines 2, which is why your intro had me confused to begin with. In that time I really liked the aerial look of the map. Enough that I have gone all the way back to the start of this series and have started to watch it. So well done, you managed to trap me. Hehe, kidding. I am 2 episodes in, that is about 15 hours worth of growth to watch until I am at this part. Looking forward to it.

I have been so far. Good timing as well. My pain levels have been extra high the past few days, having something relaxing and enjoyable helps be a bit of a distraction from the pain.

I am now caught up. Amazing, a stunning city indeed. I am tempted to watch one of your modded series now because if you can do such an amazing job with vanilla it boggles the mind to think what you can do with mods. I eagerly await the next instalment.

Great downtown Few. I have to say after watching various creators working in CS2 I just don't like the white screen whenever anything is placed. It isn't enjoyable to watch for me at least. I hope that is addressed along with a multitude of other things. 😆

Looks great, and the walking porn is off the charts! Is it just me, or does that fire station look more like a hospital than the actual hospital??? I think you should do some entertainment next (you did call out stadiums for example)... all those people will want to go do stuff besides work and shop!
