Nice video. Beautiful piece. A little busy for my personal taste but I’m sure I’m in the minority opinion here. Thanks for the thorough explanations.

So very beautiful! I have a question… when I apply my transfers, I do so before using the protective wax. I thought I heard you say that you wax first. Do you find the transfer goes on better? Thank you!

Not wax… but DO add a poly acrylic or varnish. Wax is always last. Although, honestly, I never recommend wax over transfers personally. I believe you will get the best long lasting adhesion with a poly acrylic topcoat. I love using the Paint Couture Extreme Guard Flat Topcoat. Both before (at least 24 hours prior to the transfer application) and after (can be applied immediately after burnishing the transfer).

If you do prefer a wax finish apply the poly acrylic topcoat over the transfer and then apply the wax. That’s what I did with the Annie Sloan wax to achieve that vignette look in the corners, after I sealed the entire transfer with the poly acrylic topcoat

@@thepaintedsaguaro6938ah, yes, you did say to poly first 😅 I am working on my second piece ever, and used a different paint brand and wax. I didn’t seal with any poly acrylic first, and am having the worst time of it! Before I came across your channel, I followed others who only use wax. I am just not pleased with the results this time (and it’s a big piece) 😢. While it’s too late for this one now, it’s my lesson learned. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and advice!

@@thepaintedsaguaro6938yes, and here I’ve been using clear wax as the sealer. It’s very splotchy 😭
