Hi Shevela! Thanks for watching and sharing! Using Google Sites for a school newspaper is such a good idea! Have you seen my other Google Sites video? It shows how to customize your Google Sit with unique buttons and banners. You could use this to incorporate any school logos or mascots throughout your site. Hi, thank you for sharing this information. Once the site is published can I continue to add content to it? I plan on adding resources and PowerPoint slides we use throughout the year.

Thank you for the reply. Curious if you have used screencastify? or do you prefer cyber link screen recorder? As a teacher was going to purchase screencastify but like how you zoom in on the cyber link screen recorder
@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom

@@matthewslowinski9324 Sorry, I do not have any experience using Screencastify. The zoom in effect does not require a certain screen recorder. That is actually done during the video editing process. My husband is a video editor and edits all of my KZread videos. He adds that effect in when he is editing. I do not know how he does it, but I know he uses Da Vinci Resolve to edit.
If I teach 6th 7th and 8th grade reading would you suggest I make a website for each or just set up separate pages onto 1 website?
@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for watching and commenting. I think that depends on what you intend to use your site for and how much content you intend to upload to your site. If you plan, to upload a lot of content to site and content for different units you teach for each grade level, I would recommend creating three sites. If you intend to just upload general information and not a lot of content, one site could work. Hope this helps!
Thank you Meghan, all your videos are just great! I have a question. Let's say I teach to 4A, 4B, and 4C. Can I hide a page and make it visible to each group at different times? Thank you.
@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom

Hi! Thanks for watching! I am not aware of a way to only make certain page visible to certain people at given times. You could create different pages for each section. Or, you could create a different site for each section. To do that, duplicate the initial site you create so that you don't have to start from scratch. Then, tweak the information for each section.
very useful....thanks

When you add one of your slides is it a screenshot image of your slide, or is it editable on the student’s end or is it a link to the original slide? Thank you
@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. As of right now, there is no way to add an editable/interactive Google Slide to a Google Site. Students will just see the image of the slide and be able to scroll through the presentation. You would have to provide link to a copy of the actual Slide for students to interact with this. Google is pretty great about working with schools and adapting to the needs of teachers. I am hoping this is something they update soon, especially with so many teachers trying to teach remotely.
I love this

Hi! Thank you for your video it was very helpful, but i was wondering if i will be able to customize the font, i mean like download fonts from other sites and make it for my site and not use the font that google site provided?? sorry for the bad english it's not my first language🙁, thank you very much
@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom

Hi! Thanks for watching. In most cases, you are limited to the fonts provided by Google when creating your Site. You can create your own custom headings and buttons, using a font of your choice when creating those. I have another video about customizing your Google Site that shows how that can be done. You can find that video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIhpx7F8pMm2hbA.html

Can I add plugging for appointment schedule?
@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom

Hi! Thanks for watching. You can embed a Google Calendar on the site. It is a great way for students to see and print off a list of important events, dates, etc. As far as I am aware, you can add appointments directly within Google Sites and I am not aware of any add-ons at this time.
Could you make a video on how to use a sites templates that are purchased on teacher pay teacher? I thought that purchasing templates would make this process easier, but I think that it has only made it harder because they are actual images that have to be placed in Google sites.

Hi Jana! Thanks for watching and commenting. If you are not already, make sure to subscribe to our channel so that you are notified when our new videos are posted. We have a new video coming out later this week that is about creating custom Google Sites. I will show how to create and install custom banners and buttons. I would imagine uploading a template from TPT to your site is the same as uploading custom images that you create.

That’s been one of my issues, Jana. A lot of the teachers I work with suggested i use the TPT templates, but like you, I seemed to have a harder time with that. Thank you for your question you asked on here

@@LizMarie2003 Hi Liz! I am not familiar with using the TPT templates for a Google Site, but the video I mentioned above about creating a custom site is now live. It is actually very easy to do. You can find that video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIhpx7F8pMm2hbA.html

Hallo madm Is this site free ? I am an economics teacher I want make own free website Please guide me

Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, anyone can create a Google Site for free as long as you have a Google account (which is also free). The only thing that costs money is if you want to have your own domain name, which is not required to create a Google Site. I talk more about that at the end of the video. Google Sites are a great option for teachers, and I think your economics class would enjoy interacting with the content you post to your site.
