blogs can be created for free on wordpress so I am not sure why someone would want to pay for your platform unless it does the new post everyday for you

Paying gives you control. When you promote your business, you want visitors to get your content, not someone else's advertising. A unique domain represents you and your business.

Great tutorial! Know that that discount is for the first year only and that the free email is only for 3 months (it's a trial so you have to cancel it of you don't want to pay the regular yearly fee) also SSL is free for just the first year.

Hi there, I just set up my wordpress account and paid the fee and registered my domain name, do I still need to add blue host?

for bluehost is it a 1 time payment of 35 then 2.95/month after that?

I have a domain and website set up through wix, but listening to you and a few others, it seems as if blue host/WordPress is a better option. Is it a pain to transfer my domain to blue host or would I better off just starting over? Additionally, based on your experience, do you feel like it is more beneficial to focus on a blog or on a KZread channel? Timewise (while learning, I guess) I'm just not sure I could focus on both and produce quality content.

@@mevskitcheneats Highly recommend Dan Koe's work on that topic. I'm starting with a blog for the reasons he lays out in his videos, which is that it helps you organize ideas and build a sort of foundation of content to draw from.

I am in Canada, I tried to create my blog but it was going to charge me $3795 to register my domain name (it was free for you). How do I get rid of that charge? is it because Im in Canada?

Hi Michael - so no, that's not normal, but I can't tell for sure what it is. I guess - you want to purchase a domain that someone already owns, and now they are trying to resell that to you at a higher price. There're people and companies who do this for domains that they think can be really popular. Can you check with a different domain name?

The title should be 'How to start a Wordpress website' rather than the current. :)
