Thanks for this introduction! I'm still struggling with some parts or sometimes find it hard to get an overview of all changes made in the different levels (theme / block templates / user based). And I'm wondering where I can style the input fields (I have ContactForm 7 installed). Do you have an idea?

Good point about styling inputs. Currently I think that we can only do it with custom CSS. Specifically for Contact Form 7 there are a lot of articles that show how to style the inputs. You can find something that you like then copy, paste and modify. It wold be nice to have a global way of styling the inputs without having to do this. Hopefully that's coming soon. I will have to look into it

@@RaddyDev To be honest, wordpress block theme give us (as a designer and a non-pure programmer) a little hope to able produce my own theme and make us so excited. But when come to technical like how to deliver it properly (embed option theme, plugin compatibility, user friendly setting, etc) are huge problems, hope you could help us :D

One thing I am running into with the plug-in is that its not saving the applied color to the typography for some reason. The JSON file is being written to so the permissions on the file on my local-host works fine. I'm just stumped right now.

I wonder if it's a bug. Luckily they keep releasing new updates and hopefully it will get fixed (if they know about it). I will have to update mine to see if it does the same thing

Really nice introduction. I guess I should forget all I've learned about websites pre html 5 and most of old school WordPress then. *sigh*

I am sure that your foundation in making websites pre HTML5 are still valuable. You can still use classic WP development to make websites

You should try to do some videos with prestashop diy themes and mods. IT would be very cool

What is the purpose of installing the Gutenberg plugin? Is it different than the default Gutenberg block editor? In what ways does it affect the theme development?

It allows you to use the the latest experimental features. It's kind of like features that are still in beta. You don't need it, but always good to experiment

I am unable to find guttenberg pluggin in xampp. Not sure why it is happening so?

You need to activate a Full Site Editing theme for the menu to appear. Twenty Twenty-Three should do the job

How do I get the text in my header to not sit right at the edge? I've tried everything, I tried the padding, but that changes the whole site, I'm editing the header template but cannot get this working.

If your header is wrapped in a Group element, you can create a Row inside it and give that Row the padding that you want. Another way would be to have a Group in a Group. In this case the padding should work on the outer Group and push the inner group. I hope this makes sense

Spectra will add more Guttenberg blocks. It works with FSE
