How to create a 3D character from scratch | Zbrush, Cinema 4D and Substance Painter full workflow
Фильм және анимация
In this video I'll show you how to create a Subnautica Cuddlefish from scratch. I'll go over my complete 3D workflow starting with a sculpt in Zbrush, UV unwrapping using Rizom UV, Texturing in Substance Painter and rigging/animation in Cinema 4D.

Make a new vehicle like the Cyclops but with the look of a leviathan, it can be useful to hide from leviathans

Cheers Garrett!
Particularly noteworthy is the arrow that runs from the back to the head. It is a reference to the bison from Avatar.
Dude this is the exact video I've been looking for. Thank you for making this!

its crazy how you can make something this beatiful from just a ball. respect
Amazing Workflow 👍
Hey I know it’s been awhile sense this video came out but I just wanted to say sense watching this and figuring out substance I’ve learned so much simply from watching this single video. I just wanted to say thank you for posting this and more of these videos would be very much appreciated.

That means a lot, it can get pretty discouraging sometimes seeing how few views these kind of videos get compared to the amount of work put in. Makes it all worth it to know someone is getting value out of it, thanks mate :)
huge work, thx
Well I was actually able to get substance painter with your recommendation of the Steam version. It’s working great and this video was a great help in some basic stuff and I’ve watched this video like 30 times now and I really enjoy it. If you make more of these types of videos it will be much appreciated as it’s helped me a lot and is quite fun to watch. And again thank you for the recommendation of the steam version of substance painter.

Thank u bro 👍👍👍
This Tut is so usefull, that I'd love to see another one, maybe another creature.. By doing an update version of those video, you might repeat yourself, but for us viewers would be a reinforcement of this complex but useful workflow. Thank you so much! One thing I didn't get to hear, was... What should I import to Substance?, since All we exported from Zbrush was the Textures, not the model... What model should I import?... at the beginning of the video, we exported a FBX, but that was before Remeshing... do we have to re-export a new FBX? will that have the new displacement textures attached?
thanks for the nice video. Let me ask you one question. Where did you buy the Eye Generator? I've done some research, but I can't figure out what Eye Generator you're using. . .
❤❤❤❤❤
9:55 can this be doable without Redshift? I only have Octane and Insydium.

yes same process in Octane! It's a PBR workflow :)
Why can't I use ZRemesher even though I have followed the tutorial?
To be honest I had always thought that 3D animation, modeling, etc was always this far off thing that was super hard to get into and that only the professionals used it for making games animations etc but after watching you I’ve dived deep into it learning how to use blender mainly as it’s the only free program I can get on my computer and it’s helpful to see all these tips on how to make things like this work. If you have any tips for free apps besides that blender that I could use that would be very helpful.

Thanks very much, so glad to hear you've jumped into 3d! Blender is definitely powerful, and I'll keep an eye out for other free apps that I can share tips from :)

@@DigitalDave thanks, I mostly just need a better texture editor as Blender is not the best for texturing as it only has basic brushes and not to many features to create more complicated textures quickly. I’m looking to eventually get Adobe Substance but it’s a bit expensive for where I’m at. Hopefully someday I can get it. And also roughly how long did it take you to make the cuddle fish? I’m curious how much the paid apps speed up the workflow.

@@murk-eyegaming1805 I would highly recommend Substance, If you're a student you can get an educational license free of charge. If not, there's a perpetual version on steam which means you actually own the software - this is usually 50% off on black friday. The texture paint took me less than a day, really vouch for substance painter it's worth the price

@@DigitalDave thanks I didn’t realize that the steam one existed that helps a lot. Again thanks for the help
