How to Counter Pressure Fill a Bottle of Beer
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is my counter pressure bottle filler. Here's a demonstration of me filling beer bottles and how I counter pressure fill my beer from a corny keg. What you need to do this is a tank of CO2. The gas is Tee-off from the regulator to the gas side of the Cornelius keg and the other end to the counter pressure filler. The other side of the counter-pressure filler is attached to the liquid side of the Cornelius keg.
Procedure for counter pressure filling
1. Place the tube into bottle and about 1/4 from the bottom. The stopper should fit firmly over the top of the bottle.
2. Cycle purge the bottle 3 times by pressurizing then open the relief valve to releasing the CO2. This will remove all air out of the bottle.
3. Pressurize the bottle and close gas side valve.
4. Open the Liquid side value.
5. Slowly open the relief valve. This will suck beer into the bottle.
6. Once the bottle is filled, close the relief valve and the liquid valve.
7. Remove the Counter-Pressure Filler and cap the bottle.

Really good video. Thanks for the tips
Good tip on bottling mate ,thanks for posting
Thanks for your clear explanation and demonstration. I am going to make a rig like yours.
Thank you. I've referred to this video every time I forget the line order. (I've only done this twice.)
Thank you.
Good video. Purging could be done a lot faster and easier if you: > open release valve > gently open co2 > wait a few seconds then to pressurize: > close release valve > wait to pressurize > close co2 then start filling.

what is the pressure bar of the co2 cylinder ? Thank you. 🙏
You need a momentary valve for filling, but I like your take on this vs the blichmann beer gun.
thats nice
Why doesn't beer shoot out of the relief valve while you are filling the bottle? Are you using a mini keg spear?
Is your keg and beer are already chilled and carbonated
What was the overall price by the end?
Hi. How much pressure do you apply? Thx
old video but all those brass fittings contain lead, with how expensive everything is at homedepot just spend the $54 on a stainless one
How many bars isa the pressures ?
The blichman beer gun is just a glorified 5 dollar home-made product. Spend five bucks for the same result. The beer gun will make the beer flat compared to a counter-pressure filler.
each one of those brass valves are at least 5 each. plus 2 barb valves another 4 dollars each. a 3 way distributor is about 20-30 dollars. And then i dont know how much for that metal tubing probably around 8 dollars. so yeah definitely not 5 dollars for that counter pressure filler but all things considered you are saving around 20-30 dollars since everything adds up to 51$ without tax to make this counter pressure filler and the blichmann beer gun costs about 70$.
Possibly a daft question here, but the second you take the top off won't oxygen get in?

He purged all the oxygen out of the bottle prior to filling. Since Co2 is heavier than oxygen, when he opens the top the remaining Co2 sits in the remaining head space of the bottle.
The blichmann beer gun IS a counter pressure filler
Since CO2 is heavier than air, why waste the CO2 in the first "burpped" bottle? Put a plastic tube on your vent valve. Place the tube into a second bottle and while filling the first bottle force the CO2 in it into the second bottle. Rotate second bottle to filler ( now full of CO2 ) and place a new bottle on the vent tube. Now all you are venting is air not your CO2. Works best if you mount your filler.

lol
would this work with root beer?

You should probably know the answer by now, but it works with every carbonated beverage
Honestly, get a Blichmann Beer Gun. Point and fill. That is an insane amount of work for one bottle. I also think the beer gun is cheaper... cheers
is this the sewage guy from Parks and Rec?
