It should be mentioned that the one common way nemesis may be far enough off the ground to not get burned by sticking flames is when it's digging. The spherical holes it digs are big enough that the floor will be too far away, so wait until it comes out of its tunnel before burning it. Also the final conclusions mention that minigun or autocannon with AB are good for shooting off nemesis' armor. Hurricane isn't mentioned because currently its AB mod is bugged and doesn't do anything at all.
I had a game with 6 Nemesis and we had to fight so much with so little downtime that we eventually ran out of ammo and died. I was also using Flame driller. Moral of the story: None of this matters if they throw enough of them at you.

Good news: one of the changes listed in the patch that dropped this morning was "- Fixed issue where the Nemesis had a much higher chance to spawn repeatedly in Rival Incursions than what was intended"

@@LazyMaybe oh damn. I had 5 Nemesis and 4 Bulk Detonators in one mission yesterday. Someway somehow we managed to fight them all off, survive and complete the mission, using all of our IWs and nitra. At one point I killed one Nemesis using one of the Bulks. Twas one of the craziest missions I've ever had. Makes me sad there will be less Nemesis now.

Yeah, in this week's EDD my first two attempts were met with one nemesis after another on top of a bulk det, in the second attempt we had fought like 6 nemeses + the bulk det on the first stage, we wiped cause the team wasn't coordinated enough to ignite them effectively, the mission stalled, and we hardly had any time to do the objective or look for nitra.

Okay then try it with 2 Nemesis in the same time with Glyphid Dreadnought. Bad ending for the team at Hazard 5.

Great video, had no idea sticky flames reached that high! Definitely a gamechanger.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Lok-1's Armor Break Module OC. It tears through the Nemesis' armor faster than you can say "rock and stone." It suffers against patrol bots, but as you showed, you can make up for that with a flaming Hyper Prop PGL.
Great video as always. I got to try some of these builds out. The touhou music was just icing on the cake.

AI Stability Engine for the Deepcore Gk2 is another great one to use against nemesis. It has good weakpoint damage and the weakpoints don't break very quickly because of the mediocre damage the Deepcore does. I was using it in Haz 5 for reference

I got a question for the heat of the flamethrower. Does it takes more heat with 4 players? I know enemies have more health, but do they have more resistance to elemental damage with a full squad?

Temps for igniting/freezing enemies don't change with playercount. Also in these clips I'm using custom difficulty settings to scale the HP of the enemies as if there were 4 players.

Good use of the Rabi-Ribi soundtrack, my trauma came back just as much as it usually does whenever I debate playing that game again
your thoughts on testing the armskore coil gun? things like how far it can penetrate through terrain and how far in the open, how many enemies it can penetrate, what counts as "one layer of terrain" (the mole oc), what upgrades/oc's affect the damage trail/are affected by the damage trail (for example how both the T5A and T5B upgrades work in combination with hellfire oc), and so on - basically how exactly the damn thing works since the game itself doesn't do a good job of explaining such details or how it behaves in specific situations, like usual. Great content btw, I'm binging a bunch of it right now - rock and stone!
apparently sticky flames and incendiary being that good was a bug, with was fixed about... 30 minutes ago? 45? but it loses heat slower now so everything needs retesting to some extend

Could you examine the charge percentage interactions for the Armskore Coil Gun? Things like does the trail DoT or Duration scale? Distance Penetrated through terrain? What about stun/fear effects?

Awesome vid man. The sticky flame size and the fact the Nemesis can be slowed is huge news. For PGL, would fire mod Fat Boy be of use? The dmg is lower but the heat should be significant, no?

To add to this, the hellfire coilgun pretty much ones shots every drone type, at least when I combine it with the stun ability to lock them in place for a bit.
goo bomber special has been on my sludge pump ever since I got the overclock and if going straight for people is what it does then that mod should come in handy since the puddle last a very long time and it can still be lit of fire
now just waiting for some insight and wisdom on the new secondaries.

Also worth mentioning is that the Nemesis grab can also be baited with engineer's lures, which looks hilarious, but ideally shouldn't be needed as opposed to staying out of range. Also, it seems like it can't grab you when you're inside a bubble shield (which you demonstrated in this video but didn't explicitly mention as an option)

A question about hellfire: would mod that allows you to partially charge the shot affect the trail? Because to me it seems like it would be extremely ammo efficient if you could partially charge shots not worrying about direct damage and just going for trail damage

Sadly the Heat inflicted in the trial is scaled to the level of your charge, so the mod still is only useful if you just need a quick shot wihout wasting ammo doing a full charge.
Very happy to hear that the tier 5 mod ingredient/compound X is now innate on the weapon. I thought it was outright removed. I can't wait for the new season, 2'ish more days to go.

I would personally go for SD hyperburst and while it recharges, I would start spamming lok-1 with fast locks - it delivers extremely high burst damage while hyperburster is on cooldown

you can get it to self destruct as engi. Keep getting it trapped with the platform gun and eventually it will kill itself with the ground clearing attack. Still works as of the hotfix
For my sticky flame builds I've been using sticky additive instead and go for extra heat but I lose out on range. It's a great hybrid for killing swarms and bots very easily when I bring the microwave gun

So what about the heat from sticky flames plus the wave cookers temperature thingy
Of course you can also do what I did during my last two missions, get into the drop pod and go home. (Might only be an option if you are 90% done with your objective, and the last of the Morkite is in a different room from the Nemesis.) (Might be a requirement if you only have 30 seconds before the drop pod leaves anyway.)
A little off topic, but what are your opinions on the shard diffractor? One thing that irks me is the movment penalty while firing, which none of engi's other guns have. I personaly think engi already has the hardest time kiting or defending from enemies compared ot the other classes, so I find this to be an annoying hinderance that furthur exacerbates that issue. Do you think the shard diffractor is powerful enough to justify the movment penalty?

these secondaries cept for the wavecooker are all very fun but suffer from having awful ammo problems, I just personally hope they'll all get tuned out, especially some of the builds on the crossbow because they're just awful (fire bolts LMAO)

Wouldn't Return to Sender on brech cutter be better? With 12 ammo, that's 24 "effective" ammo as you can hit it twice per shot where as your Light-Weight Cases is only 21 ammo
M100 with weakpoint damage upgrade can be really powerful when you keep your distance, just shoot it I the eye.
Summarisation screen is the best thumbs up.
It’s kinda cool that with all the fire options we have now and with the robots being weak to fire this sorta feels like an unofficial fire update. So wonder if there’ll be an ice one later on?

How is ice storm effective against robot? They dont get frozen, but they take direct frost damage not so well?
I really want to see combined slow of sludge puddles, wave cooker, electricity, IFG nade, shard diffractor and stickyflames. But unlikely I dont have enough friends to test it.
I used to think incindiary grenade was useless. Oh, what a fool I was. Also, thanks for introducing me to Rabi-Ribi.
On the second tier upgrades for sticky flames build why take Unfiltered Fuel (damage) over Triple Filtered Fuel (Heat)? Is the heat only applied to direct damage?

Yes, it's only for direct attacks, which makes the other 2 mods significantly better choices.
Plasma burster missiles on the hurricane (gunner) is also very effective imo
Ok, but what to do when it spawns in the ceiling above you within grab range and insta-grabs you and your duo partner ?
FYI, patch today made Nemisis's heat dispersion weaker, so it'll be a little easier to build heat on the slower buildup methods
Nemesis was buffed against sticky flames so might need to redo the tests.
Just wanted to say that pheromone bolts are very good against nemesis. Bugs actually attack him because he is close to the ground. And robots attack enemies affliced by pheromones too, for some reason

I like how my preferred Gunner technique is labeled "the comedy option".
rip. this is outdated already - devs released a nerf/bug fix to some heat sources and made Nemesis cool down slower, so all the heat source methods (or almost all) are already inaccurate, it seems? gonna try Gunner flame carpet anyway, see if it's still worth.
Would re-atomizer on the coilgun work?

So why does the nemesis have like 2 Attacks if it’s supposed to Be purposely designed to kick our ass I’d figure it have like 4 with like a Laser Shot attack and summoning Shreaders rather then Shoot Pulse shield and Close range one shot grab
You should test the goo gun with the microwave gun with the mod that does 30% more damage against corroded targets. Also use a full damage build and overdrive for it, and I think that might make the sludge pump more useable
I think the nemesis would be more dangerous if it had a more expansive range type attack as the only thing that it has for a ranged is that pusher field or whatever it’s called
Great research video - is it normal that sometimes bots dont die even if opverheated (white heat symbol) the first two nemesis I kept setting on fire simply continued attacking, so I dindnt try afterwards. Same happens rarely with bots.

It's a bug. Hopefully fixed at some point, but for now if you're using heat and nemesis doesn't die try letting it cool and then heating it again. Can also carry VB bulldog as gunner so you at least get some reward against burning bots.
