Why is usekwu igbo no longer presenting cooking?. It's been years now. Please I will like you prepare an age old igbo snack, made from Ukpara Akwu,(those edible juicy maggot looking insects harvested from the sap of palm wine tree.). Or prepare for us Akara ji-akpu. Cassava fried cakes. Wish you all the best.

Well done, ma. It's such a detailed video! Ma'am, You mentioned that cocoyam is not used as thickener for nsala soup. My husband is from the riverine area of Anambra state, Nigeria. Ofe nsala is their native soup. I learned how to make ofe nsala from my inlaws and they sometimes use cocoyam as thickener. I prefer ofe nsala made with cocoyam to the one made with yam.

You guys invented the Cocoyam as thickener which is false, some people do use it because it's what they can lay their hands on but Yam is the best option

She added the native spice 'ogiri'. Ogiri is processed locust beans seed. It doesn't go with onions when preparing meals. If one goes in to a meal, then the other doesn't .

Onions isn't added to ancient igbo soups ie oha, onugbu and nsala. That's because onions was introduced by the white men and before they came ogiri igbo had been in use. Years to come, other soups like okro, egusi and co became popular and since they aren't ancient traditional soups, onions was welcomed in their preparations. Not withstanding, even in preparations of the other "new soups", ogiri igbo can also be used. Also, noting the various types of ogiri will help in engancing various soup preparations when being used ie ogiri igbo, ogiri usi, ogiri okpei, ogiri dawadawa etc,
