@@marthachavez6235 I perfere to cook my beans with out meat , but I do use broth.
Love CROCK POT RECIPES THANKS FOR SHARING
I tried the bean recipe today, I had all the ingredients so I gave it a go. I usually make beans with meat, but I didn't have any in the house. They cooked up nice and tender in 4 1/2 hours . I had some sweet chili sauce in my fridge I put some of that on them and they were so good. I used the sweet chili sauce trying to make it like baked beans.
Thanks Eric, just so you know whenever I want to cook beans now I go and find this video to refresh my memory. I think it's a good simple cooking process (recipe) for dry beans that can be used as-is or other stuff can be added like onions or other types of beans if I want to try variations. I had these dry beans someone gave me sitting around for a few years and didn't know what to do with them, and same story with a slow cooker I hadn't used in years. But now because I found out it tastes so good, and its so easy to prepare it's something I eat on a semi-regular basis. I appreciate you, good job :)
I just made these beans minus the oil and they came out super delicious. Best beans I have made in a long time. Thank you for this recipe. The whole family enjoyed a big bowl 🍲 of it.
I cooked my beans a little different, but I did season my beans how you did and they turned out AMAZING!! my husband and I couldn't quit eating!

For the past 30 years my family has randomly housed and fed homeless folks. We also, at one period of time, took in young people from the Christian Church, ones separated from their parents, for a variety of reasons. Naturally we became creative in grocery shopping and planning, preparing and serving meals. Being busy with our careers, our time was as limited as our resources. Breakfast generally was oatmeal, toast, apples or oranges. They were responsible for making their own lunches. Plenty of day old bread, lunch meat lettuce and tomato. Dinner was mine. Crock pot beans, baked chicken and rice was what I "fixed" 5 out of 7 days. But I offered green peas and green beans, corn and spinach any time anyone wanted them. And hamburger patties and pork chops, ( smoked on the pit) the nights I didn't cook baked chicken. Baked chicken was so easy. I just washed and seasoned many drumsticks, thighs and 1 or 2 breast. Put them in a LARGE cooking dish, cover with foil and place on the shelf in the refrigerator reserved for it. (Everyone knew nothing else got to use that shelf). Whoever is home at lunch' has the responsibility of setting oven and putting in chicken. Low heat, slow cook till around 6. And then there's the beans. There are 3 crock pots and pinto's were in one every day. Navy, Northern and Lima were cooking in one of the other two. I just use salt and onions, but you've given me some good advice and I will take it. Sometimes I did and do put in meat chunks, but on those nights, that, with rice is the meal. And speaking or rice, we make it in a rice maker or a pot. No specialty there, anyone can make rice. But I'm no cook, I do believe you are. Thanks for the video. Hope to see more.
I make these your way all the time, Eric. Love you, man. We all miss you.
PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO NEGATIVE OR BAD COMMENTS PLEASE

Thank You !! Unity in it together!!
Thanks for the video. I like beans with flavor but don't always want to add meat. I'll use this video as a good starting point and alter the recipe to taste. BTW, thanks for the real cliffhanger at the end. I guess we'll have to wait for the sequel for the taste test. As for the Tracy Morgan comment, consider it a compliment, or at least an observation. He's one of my favorite comedians. 😊
I’m going to try mine today, going to add chopped onion and spam. I think it will be fab.
Yummy!!! Going to buy some beans now and put them on with some bacon for dinner here in Texas.Love your channel.God bless!!!!😀✌

I do neck bones (pork or beef) black pepper, 1 whole onion, beans and water. I salt last it makes the beans not mush :)

True Life Average Jane Vlog those beans aren’t mushy... that’s called “pot liquor” . Those beans look thick and good! But I agree with you on the neck bones and onion
That the prettiest pot of beans ive ever seen.
I wasn't too sure if I could leave them overnight but will give it a go tonight! Hope it all goes well! :) And about the soaking thing, since so many people claim to be experts lol my grandma grows her own beans and never soaked them.. and she's been cooking for over 55 years now. I soak them myself cause I have issues with my stomach bit if it doesn't bother you, then it doesn't matter :)

the fresh beans already have moisture so that why you dont have to soak em to get them as soft
Thanks, sir!
There's are my favorite northern beans
Mmmm hmmm!❤
It should be against the law. How good those beans came out. I am going cook me some beans tomorrow. Thanks
Thank you kind sir.
Trying this tonight
im browning my pork chops then adding them to my beans
Thanks for the beans recipe def gonna try it with the bacon grease! Have a good one my guy !
Making this today. Didn't mean to but had soaked too many beans and only needed half of them for the recipe I was planning to use. I used that recipe for half the beans and have the others cooking now in my crock pot with all the ingredients mentioned. Kinda freaked at putting SUGAR in there as I don't like sweet beans, but jumped in anyway with it. The salt didn't bother me at all. LOL. Looking forward to the end product. Thanks!
Thanks for this recipe! I’ve cooked twice using this recipe. I used hocks/smoked turkey necks instead of fried meat grease though. However, they were great each time. People have different ways of doing things but one can always add suggestions to make a recipe better or provide a better way to cook it-so Eric share if you like and ignore the stupid, negative comments. I appreciated this recipe.

Hi! I put my meat in with the beans, seasoning, and onions, bell pepper blend-I use what we have in Louisiana called Guidrys Mix, which is a bell pepper, celery, onion, garlic mix.

Your are very welcome! I had been too. I did forget to tell you that I put maybe a tsp of bacon grease that I had-i don’t like a lot of greasy foods. However I’ve tried with/without and they were great. If you like smoked turkey necks, they were really good wit the beans also. I’ve tried both. Lol. I think either way you’ll impress. 👌🏾Good luck!

Treselle L. Ok got bacon grease Good thing I have two crockpots I have the beans soaking in the refrigerator now I will definitely get back with you to let you know if I get a proposal LOL the dinner is tomorrow
lol...How many don't a least a few brotha's like this gentleman? Even an uncle. Whenever the camera was focused on everything but the subject of the video, that was my late, dear Dad to the tee. Love it! Looks tasty, sir. You'll master that camera yet. Thanks for the recipe.
One of the reasons you soak dried beans overnight in salty water (brine) is to prevent them from bursting while cooking. Looking at your final result, a LOT of your beans burst and created that white mush. The taste was good I'm sure. Also, using chicken stock/broth to soak them instead of salt brine gives amazing flavor.

Did it ever occur to you that he wanted his beans to turn out this way? Different people cook beans differently. If you are Black, especially from the south, this is how beans are cooked. 🙄

I like my beans to bust, hell I even mush some in the cooking process, it makes the juice thicker and better.

Wish I hadn't soaked mine but I already had by the time I found this recipe. I like mushy beans.
I’m going to give your recipe a try but I’m going to use black beans and add some cumin. I think it’ll make some great bean burritos. Thanks for your video! The beans look great.
Sir, I even had the same crock as you so I was able to follow you down to a T! 😂 thank you very much from my family to yours for this delicious recipe. God bless 🙏🏽
I likes it, I mades it, and I'm gonna eats me some of diz product, here! :)

Damn! I need to start cooking beans. These look soooooo good!!! Tyfs
Looking at video showed me how I could cook my beans and I wont have to go out and buy seasoned meat. I have left over bacon, I could fry that and use the bacon grease. Thank You.
Yummy I don't use meat all the time either
Can you tell me what size Crook pot that is??? Please thank You
Bro lol sorry but when i first started watching i thought to myself.. oh this somebody grandma so i know this about to be bussin
If put your beans in the fridge in some water over night it will make the beans have less gas. fridge in water over night next day cook for 8 hours in crockpot
Cool recipe. I'm actually making it right now But you start by saying great northern beans then after "the pause" you say pinto beans. Stopped me in my tracks. 😂. Thanks for the recipe man. Sounds tasty. Much Love keepen coming man
i do something similar but i like to use chicken or beef bouillon in place of the salt, and i like to add a chopped onion to the mix.
How many brands did you use 1 pound or 2
Man you dont even know how to explain the goodness you make but I love you for trying brother. I got the jist of it thanks
🌹
Yum making with neck bones
Great recipe I added black pepper and replaced the grease for butter and a bouillon cube ... Do u have a pinto bean recipe?
If you get you some comet or Ajax with a Brillo pad it will get those white stains out your crockpot…my aunt taught me that.
does it make a difference if they’re soaked?
This dude sounds like Tracy Morgan...😆👍
Looks good can I use smoked turkey wings instead of the grease?
@sunshinegriffin2965

Yes u can
Are there any cons to not soaking beans overnight before cooking
Yo! How much water we using? A bucket, 6 cups, 8 3/4...
Did you use 1 pound of dried beans?
Ilove thanyou broo. Iloveyou
If soaked white beans get fermented or bubbly stinky from being soaked, are they still good to cook n eat?
Good recipe but i think it may have been more than 2 cups of water.
Dude sounds like Tracy Morgan
How many cups of water and how many pounds of beans please. Thanks 😊
It be rocks in beans
Hi Eric! Hope all is well with you & your loved ones. Trying the recipe now. My kids don’t eat meat in their beans so I really loved this recipe!
