@@MikeBSalazarwhy put audio rec level at 1 and not at 0?
Hello I speak very loud in my videos, it would be better set the microphone at -27? and one more question, have I to do specific things if plug the mic to my iphone? if I make a video with other people I should rec in stereo or in mono? which one is better thank you tho!
@MikeBSalazar
4 ай бұрын
In the end check the levels on your camera to see if it’s really that loud. So if -27 is perfect, then you’ll see it on your screen to see if the levels are too high or too low. I haven’t tried plugging into my phone before but you nay need an adapter if you dont have a 3.5mm port. With other people I would record in stereo just in case levels different too much. And then edit in later in post.

is there a splitter or anything to set up 2 recivers to your sony camera so you could get 4 mics? Trying to figure out how to get 4 mics for when I'm on sites to film and get audio with 4 rode wireless go II's. I have a Sony a7IV camera.
This is SO helpful. Thank you! One question about stereo audio. Does the person being recorded need to wear both mics, then? Or does pressing and holding both buttons on the receiver and linking 1 and 2 do the trick?
@MikeBSalazar
6 ай бұрын
If you combine 1 and 2, a single talent only has to wear one mic.
Hi Thanks a lot this is really really well explained and very useful. Also if you could please suggest / help how can I do settings in my camera for a Sony Model AC UB-10D if I connect a RODE Reciever to it
@MikeBSalazar
6 ай бұрын
Just make sure to set your cameras, recording volume to one so that it doesn’t get mixed up with all the incoming audio from the rode microphone.
Great video, new to the rode wireless mic set up. Quick question. If the volume is to low do you first boost the receiver mic gain first OR gain on the transmitter? Thanks mate. Much love from Spain 🇪🇸
@MikeBSalazar
5 ай бұрын
I leave the mic gain alone and just adjust the gain on the receiver.
I have a Sony FDR AX53 HandyCam did anybody have the Right Settings for that pls?
Hey! Thank you so much for this. 2 quick questions. There is some 'noise' when recording quiet voices. Is there any way of getting rid of this? And if I am doing an interview with someone, we just wear one mic each and all is good? Would you recommend a levalier? Thanks again!
@MikeBSalazar
4 ай бұрын
That hissing noise is a pain for sure. You can try using the hum or noise removal in the audio tab of final cut pro if you use that. Voice isolation may help sometimes. Wearing a mic each should be sufficient. Wearing a lavalier is better if you want to have a cleaner look to your video without showing the mic, or at least showing less of it depending on what you’re shooting and what you’re going for.
Hey iam not able to record audio in my camera with this mic. Can you help
V Informative! What db level do you recommend while shooting outdoors? -6 or 0? I shoot Vlogs mostly. Thanks!

Depends on your talking volume but I usually do in between -12 and -6
There is actually an update from RODE who makes this even more simple
I have the canon eos mark ii which has the flip up screen. Because if the flip up screen, I can’t connect my receiver to the top of my camera. Can you any suggest any mount that will help me connect the receiver to the side of the camera?

is this a 6D or a EOS M50? There isn't too many accessories for this unless you look for a camera cage specific to this model that will have a cold shoe for you to place it.
Should you keep the same volume settings if you're using the lav mic?
@MikeBSalazar

Yeah the same applies.
sweet!
How do you use if there are 2 people and 2 mics? Do you record separately or in stereo together? Is it the same settings you used?
@MikeBSalazar
3 ай бұрын
I record separately in stereo, left and right.
Dumb question. Should I merge them like you showed at the end and only talk into 1 mic if I only Intend on filming talking head videos? First time I filmed I did it as is out of box and it was only in 1 ear, but I was able to fix in post. Second time I recorded I merged the audio and it sounds kind of iffy (only have turned 1 of the 2 mics on). Any input helps!
@MikeBSalazar
5 ай бұрын
If its just a single person talking, I would just merge the audio to save time and post. But if you’re going to use two different microphone sources, like clip one on your shirt and plug one into a overhead boom mic, then sure use to separate channels (1+2) for each mic. If things are still “iffy” play around with your audio gain on the receiver if you think you need a lower gain.

You may be recording left or right audio. You can change this in your editing software and just change the audio to mono so it comes out on both sides.
