I have three of these at home. Sooo useful. I could have bought some cheaper ones but it was just practical as I had other Mi smart devices set up. The newer model for this has a gold ring around the lens.

How many Resolution mode are there in the camera? Does it support 480P too? Is the resolution mode easily changeable from app? I am asking coz i have wireless router setup. Thus, speed needs to be limited. Quality is not priority, but should be changable to 1080p at press of button.

For QR scanning just take a screenshot of it and zoom it scan again it will work

This Camera get s a lot of bad reviews, but i think its mostly down to the user i had a bit of a nightmare to set up camera, it would not connect to server "Connected, no internet" but it was my own fault as i had VPN connected (same happens with Google Chromecast). For 30 euros, this is a great camera. Though when you set detection to "Low" (for bigger movements) it will record the 10 second clip when a moth flies by at night, it would be great if there was a feature to turn off the blinking light (i will probably just cover it with sticker)

Seriously? The set up presents with QR code that the camera is supposed to scan and it keeps bleeping "waiting for connection" while unable to scan the QR code. Camera may be good but this product is a dumpster fire.

Does the camera connect to a mobile hotspot or a dongle ?

you can make the camera read the code very fast by paring the phone with tv mirroring and let the camera read the code in the big screen very fast

I reach to scan SR code by make a screenshot of the QR code and send it to my PC so the picture was bigger.

I had it install and connected to my phone but now I live far away from home in a different part of the world. Due to some reasons I had to reset factory my phone and now I don't have the camera anymore. Could you please help me to know if I can connect to it again ? I also asked one the house member at my home who has the camera connected to share the device to my mi account and I accepted the share but still i cannot see the camera in mi application!. Thanks

Be carefull if ur wifi router 5ghz..Its only connect to 2.4ghz wifi router

They seem to have changed the app and it has fancy home automation functionality but none of this simple and elegant way to connect devices. They jus make it worse!

You can shared it from the smartphone that already installed it. Then you have to open mihome in your sister's smartphone and just confirmed shared device from your mihome.
