You are a massive legend! I had some trouble trying to recall SSID, but looking at the settings of some old gaming consoles helped me out. But this whole method worked exactly as you said it would! 2 of our tv's had no remotes after my nieces got their hands on them and lost them to the shadow realm. Really saved us with this process!

Man I was looking all over the net and the tubes for this solution. You had it the whole time thanks for sharing the knowledge on a most likely rare situation where you have no remote, no menu, (app set-up or input buttons on the tv (all I have is a power button under the tv). Your video made me the man on the scene for the night and saved the day.

Thank you soo much!!!! We exchanged our modem and router for news ones and were unable to update roku network settings because we couldnt control it with the remote being on a different network. Lost the original remote long ago. This saved us lots of aggravation.

Nuts! I cannot believe this worked! We always run our roku box with our projector off of my hotspot and use my husband's phone as the remote by also connecting it to my hotspot, but I was out of data on my phone. My husband had plenty, but we could NOT get it to connect to his. Changed his hotspot name and password to the same as mine and it connected 🙌 you are seriously a legend!
