Lmao. I don't get why we don't have at least one USB port... it is ridiculous to need an extension just to plug in usb lmao. Older computers were better in this regard.

💕 Thank you so much! I'm very near sighted and after a teacher asked me why I sat so close squinting at my laptop screen I knew I had to find a solution. Going slowly over connections for the mouse, keyboard, and audio as well as the different connectors I may encounter... this video was perfect. I also GREATLY appreciate that you planned ahead and edited shots. There is nothing worse than information interrupted by endless hems and haws. It was a joy listening to you deliver your message.😊
One of the clearest, most direct "how to" videos I've ever seen! Thank you. No extra chatter. Just solved the problem in clear and concise way. Subscribed!

Thank you. This was one of the clearest and most helpful videos I’ve come across. I’m interested in splitting my screen between the two monitors. Do you have a video on how to do that, please?
This is a good solution for getting the smaller 13in MacBook Pro for travel, and a large screen when at home. Thanks for the great video.
I think this is the most helpful video I've seen in a while! Very easy to follow, and SO helpful. Get a like :-)

Thanks so much. Very helpful. Is it possible to do the same set up with two monitors? by connecting the monitors to each other by another HDMI cable?
Excellent how to video. You anticipated a problem (plugging in charger to mac) that would have caused me great frustration. Thank you!

4:48 - This is key. I wasn't aware of this little detail, as my MacBook at work refused to turn on external monitor when it was closed. Once I plugged in charger in MacBook, then closed it, voila the monitor works! 😎👊🏻
Very helpful for the 4k macbook screen where I need to use a magnifying glass to see my editing icons.
This video told me everything I needed to set up an external monitor and keyboard.
Some Know and Teach Well, others know and do not Teach Well. You sir are the former. Excellent, Simple and Directly to the point. You even took the time to edit it to maintain a nice flow. Where were you when I was at DeVry? Great Job!!

Thank you. Any insights if you can connect e.g things like an external drive to the monitor if the latter is a thunderbolt connection type? I have seen some monitors with usb ports
By far the best video covering this subject. Very comprehensive and clear. Thank you so much. One thing I would also need to know is how large a display monitor can I attach ?

Just plug it into a usb port on your mac or on the USB hub. And then select that camera on any video chat/calling program you use. Those webcams are plug n play, so they don’t need any additional setup
Hi. Can you tell me please if I can use only monitor e.g HP or Dell with Mac? They have operating system windows 8. Thank you.

Hello, great video man! But wont the MacBook Pro's battery fry if i have it connected to the charger at all times?
@Akashaflow
7 жыл бұрын
No. I have had mine connected to a power source most of the time, since I got my macbook pro 6 years ago, and I can still use it for at least 4 hours just running on a battery, haven't actually tried for any longer than that. It has not fried my battery life so far.
When I watch on my TV a slideshow I created on my MacBook Pro, the display on my laptop shrinks so small I can barely read the dock icons. Is there a way to fix this?
Question... my monitor has an HDMI port, but the monitor doesn’t have built in speakers, so do I need to use separate speakers to plug into the audio port on the back of the monitor? Also if I am using this set up for google meets, will the camera and mic be used on the monitor or MacBook?
So I have to get a thunderbolt for video? Thanks for the insight! Some things seem like I should know but I just need a little help.
@Reviewlamp

You don’t necessarily need thunderbolt/usb c. HDMI will work as well for video
With the two Thunderbolt ports, could I connect two Thunderbolt to VGA adapters and have two external monitors? Or is only 1 supported?

I am a bit confused as my iMac (21.5 inch, 2017) only has Thunderbolt 3 (and normal USB) so in theory can I not connect my MacBook directly, using a Thunderbolt 3 cable? But when I try this, I get a message on the powerbook saying its no supported. ' cannout use Thunderbolt accessory" .
How do I raise the resolution now that it’s on the monitor?
is there anyway to remove the white bare at the left ?
