How to Configure Screens and Screen Schemes | Atlassian Jira
In this #atlassian #jira video, I am going to teach you about #screens, screen schemes, issue type screen schemes and how they all work together. You will learn how to create, associate, and relate them to projects. This is very critical skill to develop because adding fields to Jira is a very common request. Knowing to appropriately navigate all the screens and their configurations is very critical to overall success.

This is everything I was looking for, and I was so confused before watching your video! Thank you so much for this great content!
Thanks Alex. I am currently going trough an advanced Jira course in Udemy, but unfortunately the instructor is not that good, so I often scratch my head at the end of some lectures. Screens is one of them. Fortunately I come to your channel and it gets so much clearer. Keep up the great work. I really appreciate your work.
Honestly, thank you so much for an amazing walkthrough of screen schemes and issue types! This has been extremely useful, it's been my arch nemesis for weeks now!
Awesome video! Short, sweet and gave me exactly what I needed to understand the topic. Appreciate it so much!
Very helpful, Thanks Alex!
I needed this so much, Thanks!

Glad it helped.
You almost lost me but you brought it together really well! I've been a frustrated Jira end-user for years and am just trying to configure it for the first time. I didn't think I could be any more frustrated than I already was, but here we are 😊 Thank you for this!
Thanks for this. That really cleared it up for me.

It's tricky. Glad it helped!
Thank you so much. I was ready to fall out with Jira trying to figure this out myself 😂
Wow!!!! Seriously have been struggling with all the “schemes” etc and this really simplified it all. I now call it my JIRA order of operations. Thank you! I, am aspiring JIRA administrator and would like to become certified in the near future so i can move from Change Management to something with more $$$$

Glad you think so!
Excellent, it associates screen scheme with All Issue Types. What if we want to associate it with a specific issue type, for example only to "Task"
@ApetechTechTutorials - Can you maybe share a link of how you can use different screens per different issue type? TIA
That was really informative, In my organisation we have uncountable projects , screen schemes, Issue type screen schemes. My ask is just to add two newly created Issue types in all the projects. How I can do it, is there a simpler way- I don't want to mess the existing projects?
Thanks for this great video tutorial. I believe this only works for Company managed project. Do we have something do to the same with the team managed projects? TIA
Hi Alex!! How are you? I watched your video trying to discover how I can add the "bottom" and create a subtask in a new board, all the task tickets are not showing this option. Can you help me, please?
Hi alex im quite new to jira, Is it possible to make my team mates fill in certain fields, before they can move the issue to the next board? I've been struggling with this.. And can i force them to link the issue too?
How does this fit in with the Advanced road map? I watched a previous video and you mentioned that all projects being pulled into the ARM should have the same issue types, so the hierarchy can match throughout. Will different screens/schemes per issue type affect this?

You'll have to worry about a similar thing. If you try to add/populate a field that doesn't exist in a project, it's not going to work. So, you need to make sure that all your projects share the same fields/screens.
--Note-- Please see comments below to understand this video does indeed perform the action as intended by the person who created this content. This was a small error found on my own accord. Thank You. This video works 100% up until you get to one specific part... near the end. When you attempt to assign a scheme to a project, you go to the project --> project settings --> "Issues Menu" in the sidebar, followed by "screens". I'm not sure why, but my jira does not have this. I'm unaware if this was an odd update or if this is an unavailable administrative process. I have full control of my project and can do everything up to this point, but from there I have no choices like you presented. This is a real head scratcher.

We’re you able to make create the scheme itself? Because if you did, then you should be able to apply the new scheme.

@@ApetechTechTutorials So, I was able to make one, however, I think the issue I had is that the project that was created for me at the time that I'm an administrator of was created as a "Team" and not a "Company managed" project. So, my assumption is that I'm not seeing some of the extra options that you have present in the video on account of having a different project type. Also, thanks for the reply! :D
Hi, Can we get longer version of this?

Sure, the video covered pretty much all you need to know. What else would you like to see? I'm currently creating a course as well and would love to hear your feedback.
hi, but if i want to associate it only to one issue type? where do i select it in last step? in the step before the last one, i selected the issue try i wanted

You need to make a screen, screen scheme for that unique issue type. And then fold all of that into your issue type screen scheme.

@@ApetechTechTutorials do you have a video on this?
Can you associate workflows/status with screens?
@ApetechTechTutorials
Жыл бұрын
Yes. In your workflow, you can add a screen to a transition. That way, when a user transitions an issue, you can display a screen that asks for fields to be filled out.
Is there where you can make a stuff mandatory. For example I would like to make internal comments mandatory when closing tickets
I dont have this screen setting in project settings

Same! I don't have the Issues tree. Only "Issue type" which doesn't have any settings for screens or schemes.
