In this tutorial we will take a photo of a car on the street and cut it out and move it over to a different background and make it look as realistic as we can. We’re going to cover how to choose images that can work together, how to adjust the perspective of the background image with Perspective Warp, how to cut out the car with the Pen Tool, how to find the correct perspective to make the car look like it is in the correct place, how to clone away reflective details, how to add the reflection of the sky to the car windows, and a bunch more! This is a pretty deep tutorial and there is a bunch to learn. I hope you love it! Thanks for watching!

    Excellent tutorial. You probably already know this but when cutting out a car (that is to be used in a composite picture), it is always advisable to cut out [ just ] the car (and not include its shadow). Make a "separate" Cut out (or Selection) of the shadow and put the shadow in a separate Layer in the Layers palette. By doing this you will be able to control the shadow's opacity as well as have the ability to Transform the shadow into almost any shape your wish (within reason, of course). Btw - I don't believe PSCS6 has "Perspective Warp"..........I'll have to double check. Thanks.

    Can you please do a video where the subject is a person composited into another background. I would really like to see how you determine the horizontal or prospective line of the subject.

    hmmm, when I tried this all I got was a blue outline when I tried dragging the car onto the new background. I think I screwed up LOL.

    if you don't have more 512M VRAM in your pc you can't do Perspective warp in Photoshop, so the easy alternative is to use "Cltr + T" and click right select warp

    Would have been nice if you actually supplied the images for this, and why not use the background extract action or the magic lasso?

    Cool Tutorial, talking/teaching about perspectives can become very theoretical and dry. You actually avoided that without skipping any information. THX Also I´ve just notice that you do sound a bit like Will Wheaton. but that´s probably just me. Cheers

    How much would you charge for a composite of that extent?

  • @tutvid

    @tutvid

    Depends on what the client is purchasing and whether you have shot the photo or not. Typically if I have shot the photos, the Photoshop assembly will cost the client $175 USD
