Hello, in this tutorial I will merge multiple cylinderical objects into one object and change their center pivot to be rigged to model a telescope.

    can you make a tutorial on how to insert hard edged shapes like cubes into cylinders like you did here with the cylinder? i can't figure out how to get no pinching with Sub-D Topology when inserting Angular objects onto Cylindrical geometry.

    Thanks a lot for the video! I really like your tutorials! Working with cylinders I stumble with a question, which probably you could advise how to solve. It's about the size of the connected cylinder. In the example there is a relatively similar size of 1st and 2nd cylinders so they more or less fit the edges. If I need to use a tiny 1st cylinder that is 10x smaller, for example, would it mean that I need to enlarge the amount of the 2nd cylinder rotation segments 10x as well?

  • @polygonpen

    I don`t know the exact math but I don`t think it is relative , I mean size=segments, I usually do it by eyeballing, but it would be great if there is a math for that.

    @@polygonpen Thanks a lot for your reply! What I meant is not the exact number we need to follow, but more a principle of how to deal with tiny holes in the cylinder by not making a lot of cylinder segments. Otherwise, I can not solve the distortion around the hole because of diagonal edges: cdn.glitch.com/f683add4-609a-402f-bff1-afa6e8993f99%2FScreenshot%202021-03-06%20at%2000.36.26.png?v=1614987550752

    The best way to avoid distortion is to have high polygon/segment, especially for cylinder/curvy shapes.

    Mükemmel 👍💯 Gayet anlaşılır ve sade bir anlatım olmuş, tam olarak istediğim şey ✌ 8.16 'da kenarları şeçip, live selection içinde sub-d sekmesinde set işlemi yaptın ve yeni tag oluştudu, sub-d kenara mı uygulandı yoksa objeye mi anlamadım. sonrasında tag işaretini sildin. tag'ler ne işe yarıyor henüz fikrim yok 😏

  • @polygonpen

    @polygonpen

    3 жыл бұрын

    Tesekkurler, kenari secip set yaparsan sadece kenari etkiler ama objenin tag i oluyor, sadece kenarlari sectigin icin tag in kendi icinde selection oluyor yani baska bisey etkilemiyor ama isin bittikten sonra silmek gerekiyor yaptigin gibi.
