Symptoms
In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

    Great channel! Just binge watched like 10 of your videos. Came for the hair system info (not planning to get one), stayed for the quality content. The vulnerability and authenticity is refreshing. Hope you make more non-hair content!

    First of all, thank you. I found your channel a few months ago, and it's what I've been watching on my free time. It's fantastic to see such eye candy beautiful man producing such content. I admire your confidence, and I wish I could find a guy like you, for keeps. Don't stop, man. You're great. Pretentiously, I have a question/contribution. Ever tried/heard of Itely's Procolorist 10 in 1 spray? My system is 6 months old, and colour was degrading, it was looking rather dry too - which I considered normal. But after two uses of their spray, it looks like new. Seriously, new. No more knots, and it's so damn soft! The only downside for me is the price, as I live in Brazil, and I have to import it, so it's a bit pricey, but definitely worthy. Also, I am having a very good experience with Keune's So Pure Moisturizing shampoo, conditioner and every two weeks, their moisturizing treatment. My system never looked better - and it smells SO GOOD too. Thanks again, man.

    Couple points I’d add 1. Hair colour has some chemicals that can cause severe reactions in some people. Even though you’re colouring a system, not your bio hair it would be wise to skin test. 2. Wear gloves - your fingernails are keratin too and will discolour 3. If you’re not sure on the shade, choose the lighter option. You can always recolour again darker. But it’s really hard to shift a colour that is too dark.

    Hey. I'm losing my hair and managed to use a conbination of a super fine tip pen and hair fibers to recreate my hairline. I also wear beanies on some days just to give my scalp a break. Id be interested in being in an interview with you. I've been using hair fibers for years with a somewhat bad receding hairline and could contribute a lot of DIY knowledge and hacks

    So the stylist I work with said she’d tried fucking around with colouring pieces, and she couldn’t get them to budge. She said they’re usually dyed with textile dyes, and the cuticle has been completely stripped, so it’s really difficult to make headway in either shade direction. Do you know anything about that? I have ashy dark brown hair. Closest to a Lavivid 2, but it’s too warm. I’d love to be able to get it closer to my ashy tone without having to go to a 210, but my stylist doesn’t think it would work.

    Would you ever dye your hair while it is on your head? Why or why not? Is this considered a permanent dye? I am told permanent dyes will mess up the base.

    It’s crazy you and I use the exact same dye, Color and all and yours look so much lighter than mine. Also for a full lace system there is a much better way of doing it and be wary of “professionals” I’ve seen them screw up a lot

    What do most people feel is the most realistic hairline, lace or skin. I am being told by the stylist with Hair Club that lace is the most undetectable. The style I like, the hairline is exposed. Any advice is appreciated.

    How did you avoid coloring the knots? That is my main concert with lace systems. I have heard of various techniques such as applying vaseline or Got2Be Glue gel in the thick layer from the lace side so it seeps through cover the knots and prevents when coloring afterwards.

  • @simonwright9916

    @simonwright9916

    That’s my worry, too. I was told by a wigmaker that using conditioner in the underside (which many hair clubs recommend) as a barrier is not a good idea as it lubricates the knots causing them to undo. Now when I color my system, I am scared to get too much color on the lace and the final result looks like the “roots” are showing. I have got dye on the lace before, and it never comes off.

  • @her247hair

    @her247hair

    @@simonwright9916 do not use conditioner but Got2Be Gel or vaseline. I would even rather go with the gel since it doesn’t have any oils in it. Got2be glue gel should be saturated from the inside and let it sink through the other side and dry. That is the only way I see it protecting lace and knots from staining and also not affecting the knots strength

    Hey Jake, I couldn't find the video where you talk about why you chose the hair system path instead of hair transplant, if you could link it that would be amazing. I want to say it was because hair transplant it isn't 100 percent to get the hair you always want, but with a hair system you would.
