HOW TO COLOR CORRECT | MELASMA HYPERPIGMENTATION | PREGNANCY MASK | CONCEALER | BRECKHOUSE

Guys, keep your panties on. Yes, i added pigmentation (all waterproof stage makeup, but that’s besides the point)...the color theory (heavily explained for all not-so-know-it-all’s out there) works. Try it. Or not. ✌🏼
Ugh, that dreaded hyper-pigmentation + pregnancy mask! So annoying! Here's how to correct + conceal it to look most naturally.
Also! I didn't even end up using the concealer brushes...I just used my favorite tool...my fingers!
PRODUCTS:
STILA CORRECT + PERFECT PALETTE
MAC FIX + SPRAY
MAC BRUSH 228- smaller brush for condensed coverage
MAC BRUSH 217- fluffier brush for a more diffused coverage
MAC BRUSH 225- fluffy brush for blending

Thank you for the video. I have melasma. I appreciate your efforts in mimicking melasma on your face with color to teach us what the techniques are to color correct. I read a few of the reviews that people wrote and imo they are missing the point You are teaching the technique. You do not HAVE to personally have melasma to teach how to camouflage it. I think personally it is a good idea. Some people such as I like to see the technique and not just read it, or listen to just audio. I am one that APPRECIATES your video! Thank you!♥️🙂🤗

the only thing that is wrong with this is many people with melasma (such as myself) the the skin that is effected with melasma has a different texture that the rest of the skin. My large patch on my forhead for example is super smooth and shiny unlike the rest of my skin, so makeup of any kind does not want to stick or stay put.

I’m watching this video a month too late but glad that I’m watching it now. I have this textured dark patch that showed up on my left cheek. Honestly, it popped up once I started dermaplaining my face. I went to a dermatologist who only told me there were fine hairs trapped under the skin but was of no help. And it’s making me self conscious tbh. Fast forward to last month. I was attending an event and desperately needed tips on inexpensive items being that I no longer wear makeup daily. It’s a once in a blue moon event now. I went to a Sephora and Ulta, and I was told by supposed “makeup artists” that there was nothing I could do to cover up the dark patch. I was disappointed and overwhelmed, and ended up leaving without purchasing anything. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to go to a dermatologist or esthetician who can actually treat this situation. I don’t know if it’s hormonal, I don’t know if it’s melasma, but one day I will find out hopefully sooner than later. Thank you for this video.

If you have changed up some of the products you use (since this vid is 7 years old) can you update the products and the tools you use to do this same technique?? ❤❤❤ Omgosh I am so blown away. I was never one for caked on make up and i was so sad when I developed melasma on my cheeks and upperlip. Everything I did made me look so heavy and the melasma would still be seen through layers of foundation.

Great Melasma Video! There are very few on youtube. My problem is, I haven't met a cream or liquid foundation/concealer/corrector that doesn't clog my pores. I can only use certain mineral foundations. I have spent $1000s on makeup and all the excellent products for helping cover my major melasma and acne scars cause acne for me. I wish so badly I didn't have such clog prone skin because I love doing makeup and have gotten pretty good at it with all of my practice and watching of videos, but I am trying to accept that they break me out. If you know of anything that is good for acne prone skin I'm all ears. Thank you!

I'm confused by your intro starting around the 15 second mark . You said you ADDED a pregnancy mask? After you said you woke up with a crater, you talked about how you added different colors to your face. Are you saying that you created a "hyperpigmented look" to cover with the Stila palette, or do you actually have hyperpigmentation? Your video is great, and I'm not dissing you in any way, but would you consider doing another video using the same Stila palette on a person who actually has hyperpigmentation since the outcome will be different and will reflect truer results?

  • @BreckhouseBeauty

    @BreckhouseBeauty

    8 жыл бұрын

+S el I'd be more than happy to. Do you have hyperpigmentation? And live in SLC, UT? Or know someone who does? Send them my way!! I do have hyperpigmentation and I did have a crater, but I took MAC ProLongwear eye + lip pencils to amplify and create this. It's what makeup artists do when there isn't the actual skin type to work on. This technique works. The results are no different for creating a mask (professionally) vs having the problematic skin naturally. This technique is different than the thousands upon thousands of other techniques you will see in other videos and it does work. Having worked professionally in the industry for over 15 years now, this is something I've perfected. Now if you try this and it's not working for you, then you should either adjust the amount of color you're needing, or use a different technique :) let me know if I can help in any other way!! Thanks for watching!

+Breckhouse I will have to respectfully disagree with you. Covering up makeup with more makeup is not the same as covering up melasma/hyperpigmentation. I do have a very severe case of hyperpigmentation and with my skin tone and skin texture, it is extremely difficult to cover it effectively. I wish I were near you so I could be a model for you to try your method on! I've spent literally hundreds of dollars to try to effectively treat and cover the hyperpigmentation that is all over my face. If you happen to find someone near you with this affliction, please do an updated video of the Stila palette. Thank you!

+S el hi! I have melasma and in my opinion, it's pretty bad. but of course, we're our own worse critic. I, too, have spent hundreds of dollars looking for the perfect "cover" even going as far as consulting a med-spa for help and pricing lightening treatments. I have used nyx's color correcting palette but felt it was too much additional makeup. I have been using benefits erase paste for the past month and really love it. a little goes a long way. give it a try! good luck finding that perfect match for you, hang in there!

Im light olive with these darker brown marks & My face looks ill because of the uneven places its darker. I hate melasma. If anyone has a shelf product that works - let me know. shannon c I have real melasma and cystic acne with a lot of scars! I have tried everything and even went to a dermatologist. Nothing covered it! I just recently went to sephora and this girl put the kat von d lock it on my face and then went in with a full coverage concealer and I swear it covered everything on my face!! There was also a man who came in who was African American and had two black spots on his cheeks way darker than his natural skin tone and this other girl used cover fx on his spots and they were gone! Maybe try on if these and see what happens. Good luck and I hope this helps you.

my melasma is greyish, and also after use camouflage makeup (double wear maximum), the grey patches (2 very huge, one at each side) are here. is it the orange, that could correct this??

+Eve Linie it's probably more the peach that would do the trick. I guess it depends on just how dark the patches are and how dark your skin is. Remember that peach will cover more of the blue-grey and orange will cover more of a purple-grey.

Use a full coverage foundation like the Huda beauty or Maybelline superstay, apply it with fingers or dense brush like sigma f-80, set it with some foundation power, and call it a day. All this correction is unnecessary. Doing what I said above will cover EVERYTHING and be super quick.
