How To Clear Your Baby’s Blocked Nose 👃🏻/ ✅ 6 Tips To Help Your Baby Breathe

✅A nose that's clogged with mucus can make it hard for babies to breathe and eat properly, especially for young babies who breastfeed or take food from a bottle.
There are 4 main options to remove gunk from the nose of small children. I’ve tried them all on my kids and in this episode, I’ll tell you which one I think is the safest and does the job. The options are:
1. Nasal solution: Spray or drops
2. Nasal aspirator - bulb syringe
3. Nasal aspirator - non-bulb syringe
4. Distilled water syringe
All can be done by yourself without the need to see your doctor. All of them are a little unpleasant for baby and parent but if you do it more than once kids learn that it’s actually good for them and it helps them breathe and sleep easier.

  • @drsinanmir

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi, thanks for your comment! Yes, many of the electric nasal aspirators can be used in newborns and older. Personally though, i dont find they have the right power to remove the "gunk" like a manual aspirator does. Good luck!

    Dr do you recommend that I use Vick’s on my daughter’s nose? She’s a few weeks old

  • @qbeez92

    @qbeez92

    2 жыл бұрын

    No don’t do it,, it will irritate baby’s eyes as well. Instead of Vicks you can mix soft candle, pure coconut oil, and red lavender as a concoction and apply to baby’s chest and back. Another thing I did to clear my son’s congestion was mix breast milk with coconut oil and give baby to drink. The baby will either vomit or poop out the mucus. To speed up recovery you can add a small piece of onion in baby’s socks at night . It will help rid the flu virus from baby’s body.

    @@stevepehta4709I guess each child is different, I've seen my neighbor do it to her kids and they all scream and cry. It looks like an ordeal to the kids. It does go in one nostril at a time but it still looked like an awful way to clear out a child's nose. I wouldn't want that done to me.
