worked on a 2020 GLC, you saved me a trip to the dealership. thanks a bunch!

I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HELP BUT IT DID!!! After replacing my car’s battery the engine light came on and this did the trick!!! Thank you so much for this quick and helpful video.

Absolutely amazing! Worked on my E class 2016 (W213). My steps: Sport+ , Put in reverse (Move it back a little), put in Drive (Moved it forward a little), put in park and rev to 2000 RPM. Then move it to sport mode and do the same thing. Then move to eco mode and do the same thing. Turn ignition off... leave for about 30 seconds.. turn back on an light is gone. Can not explain how grateful i am! Thank you sir 🙏

Wow! I have a 2012 GL450. It doesn't have drive modes, but just sitting in a parking lot, moving it forward a few feet, then back again, shift to Park, Rev the engine and turn off the key as the engine rpm's drop from the Rev-- WORKED!

Wow, it actually worked. Mercedes GLC250 year 2018. It happened because of loose fitting fuel cap. After retighten, the light won't go away, so i tried this method. And it worked flawlessly

A month later, turns out I had to get my car to a mechanic.. and had to get the following replaced: EGR PRESSURE VALVE Manifold sirve arm flap This is not a standard for you engine management light to come on. But was the fault picked up after they ran diagnostics.

Had to do a few times on a 2016 C220d, followed steps - light was still on, so thought it was a waste of time, walked away. Came back to car 1 hour later and it’s gone! Thank you! 🎉

@@chumamkhuseli9316had to do 3 times. But didn’t follow the steps exactly. Just switch between the different modes, move a little forward and back, start stop etc.

It worked on my A class 👏

How to find the real cause & why it turned on automatically ? Although I am not facing any issues while driving. Merc c300, 2018 Yesterday while driving, engine light sign suddenly pop-up on the dashboard. Even if this trick works, what if the engine or any other thing is faulty ? Do we need to go and test ? what triggered the light?? it seems like there is a reason for the light to come on. I don't see myself doing this trick every time it's annoying I prefer t get t repaired.

@@ljptech I took my car to the dealer and they told me it was something related to the catalytic converter and it would be around $1500 dollars to get it fix, however as soon is I left the dealership the light went away, I hope it doesn’t come back again anymore 🤞🏼

This "trick" should only be used if you believe that the check engine light has come on due to a fIuke. But if there is something TRULY WRONG with the engine, you should either take it to an honest/trusted mechanic (if such a person exists--lol), or do it yourself using an ODB scanner, and then take it to a mechanic if needed (telling them that you already did the diagnostic and what the issues are with the engine). They'll probably run their own diagnostic anyway, but probably won't charge you for it, especially if their findings matches yours. Also, they may be less inclined to take advantage of you as far as repair costs are concerned (if needed) if they get the impression that you know a little a something about cars, since you were proactive enough to do the diagnostic yourself.
