This was great. I've only ever used smoke (sage to cleanse, pale Santo to charge.) A few months back I stumbled on "naps." Had a deck that started basically saying "Fuck off" and I thought "Fine then." Wrapped it, put it in a wood box (cuz it's what I had) and let it nap a few days. (Also had a little interview with it after the nap and the deck indicated it preferred to be used for more 'serious' readings but not daily work. It hasn't been mad at me since.)

Hello! I've recently started reading tarot and I've been getting pretty good at it, and after i saw this video I realised I've been subconsciously cleansing and charging my baby deck( i have a smol deck by Kim Krans 😭) by keeping it in a silk pouch and in our temple room ( We are Hindus so we have one in our home) and it is the most positive and charged room in the house. Thank you so much for letting me know I've been keeping good care of my cards, I feel so much better knowing that I'm doing it right 🥹 Lots of love from India 💖

@@akshayaos4095not OP but I’m indian too and I have the Tarot of the Divine deck by Yoshi Yoshitani!

I knock on mine 3 times to let the deck know that I am entering with positive energy and then I blow away the negative energies. I will also put my Tibetan Singing Bowl on top of my decks and make it sing until the energy feels clean.

I love these suggestions. Something I’ve done since I started reading cards is to hold them toward my mouth and blow air through them. I hold the intention that the cards are mine and blow everything else away… Love your channel. 💜

Ohhh! How lovely :) Definitely join my little community if you want to expand your knowledge of the tarot! I post 3 times a week about witchy and tarot content and all for beginners! I love how the universe works.

Love your videos! I put my decks on a selenite plate, of in a big clear quartz! To cleanse them I tap on them, blow in them and then I use a sage insence and turn it smoking around the deck. I feel when the deck is properly cleansed, some decks I just keep turning my insence around it. After it did that, I hold every card and look at it intensely... And then I hold the complete deck and feel its energy and send my energy in the deck... This is my own ritual, it's not something I learned on youtube or read in a book (I'm Dutch so I'm sorry if my English isn't as it should be🙈) it's just how I feel I should do it. I treasure my decks! They are my friends♥️ my soulmates! My most precious ones I keep in a drawer next to my bed...

Thank you for all these tips. I have a candle that I fan the cards and turn them over. I also do thid when I welcome a deck to my house. Iwas very surprised when I felt a lightness about the cards and thought man I think this is working . :)

I cleansed mine at the sea. We have a wishing well right beside us and the beautiful beach 🥰🥰🥰

I love hearing different ways of cleansing and imbuing tarot, what i do is when cleansing and is buring flat cedar and passing the deck thru the smoke while telling it my intentions for it use before i ever use them for the 1st time. Then i imbue the deck with my energies by 'playing' with them (shuffling, handling & trying to play solitaire w/ the minor arcana).

I never know about this before, but after I cleansed and charged my deck. I'm so surprised!! My tarot feel so different right now 🥰 it really worked! I can't wait to cleanse my new tarot deck which it's still on the way.

Ohh I'm so glad you found this video!! Yess your Tarot needs a good cleanse every now and then!

I didn't actually know I could charge it with anything but my own energies. So I usually say hello to each card and hold them to my chest.. I speak to them. If they feel "wonky" or I was feeling particularly emotional when I read with the deck I will use palo santo or white sage. and kinda of hold it in the sage until it smells like it's been to a sweat lodge.. or until the smoke stops gathering and pluming around it. Note! Don't do that with all of your stones as well.. I've stained some and some just reek now of sage. Also.. never put larimar under your breast if you don't want the color gone within a week. What???? lol.. Thank you, as ever, Ethony! I am a crystal lover and so passionate about them! I can't wait to use my stones to charge my decks!

I never have done reiki but I sit in my bed or anywhere holding my deck with eyes close with few moments. I also do some blow method before/after shuffling it or arranging it in order. Btw, i don't have tools so that's my ways, I also do sun bath hihihi.

I don't have windowsills that any light can reach - I have porches, but I put all my stuff I charge outside in clear plastic boxes so they don't get rained on or stolen 🙃🥰

I use ordering the cards as a way to cleanse like resetting the deck sorta.

Is there a possibility that Tarot can attract spiritual energy or is that your intention playing tricks? Been feeling weird after every reading at times.

Hey there! I was wondering if it applies to all tarot decks! As my family has a long line according to my mother, of Germainian/ Romainian Gypsies. One thing that perplexes me is that she says that she feels really drawn to tigers eye and obsidian, but im more drawn to opalite and topaz. She is quite secretive and more reserved about her abilities and she does AMAZING card readings and can feel certain things that are inexplicable to me. Im not a sceptic though, ive felt odd stuff and feelings and random bursts of emotion and tastes and smells. She recently gifted me a what she said would fit me well as a first deck, she gave me a moonology oracle deck. Im a bit confused as to what to do on how to get started with it! If you have any assistance or anything please let me know!

I have an Echo Dot (Alexa) and an essential oil diffuser. Would sitting my decks on top of the Alexa with music playing charge/cleanse my decks? Would letting the diffuser mist with Sage and other oils cleanse/charge them?

I just use straight up chakra incense sticks and hold it above the smoke

Could i put my deck under a new moon?

I am using reiki and singing bowl. And I think tuning fork could be an option? since it produces high frequency sound, and it's easy to bring when you want to cleanse your deck outside.

Hello! NO, you do NOT need an altar! You really do not need anything in order to buy tarot cards. just yourself and your intuition :) It would definitely still work, just pop it somewhere special in your room or your house that the deck won't get disturbed for a lil bit.

Hi darling, I got it from a crystal shop in Australia, but you can find singing bowls at most metaphysical stores!

I did a tarot deck interview for my very first deck I bought about a month and a half ago. One of the questions I asked was how you would like to be cleansed. For that I got the ace of cups. Now this is the second time this came up because I remember asking that question on its own as a practice one-card reading and I'm almost certain I got the same card. I asked twice because I couldn't remember the first time and I didn't write it down (rookie mistake). I knew it was the same because my train of thought was "ok, liquid, water. How the heck am I going to cleanse this with liquid without damaging them?" So does anyone have any suggestions on how to cleanse a deck with water (literally or metaphorically)?

This is a great question! You can sprinkle it with water with some rosemary in it. Or mist some sacred water over it!

is it true that you shouldn’t do a reading for yourself?

I love my crystals and must admit my daughter tells me off for buying so many. 🙄 I’ve always cleansed my cards by charging my selenite bowls or I have a few slabs of it (approximately double the size of one deck of cards) So once I charge those up I put my cards on to them, same as my Crystal or I might put them on the polished slabs or crystals in the bowls and put them on my window ledge. Is this okay? As I’m learning as I going on, But want to combine, Crystals, tarot cards, herbs, spells.. Moonology etc… together. I am learning one at a time and really have a feel for it. I can read some people too, which has helped me before now, So I know spirit is there for me. ( is that weird?) Sorry I sound like a nutcase. 😂 Blessed be.

So I just got my first deck and I had a question. I have the crystals to cleanse it and I plan on using the upcoming full moon lunar eclipse to give it its first charge. Is it important to cleanse before charging a deck? Or can I charge it before cleansing it, does the order matter?

Well as it is a new deck it is not necessary to cleanse it. But you don’t have to charge it either.

that is totally okay, because rose quartz will bring love into your deck :) clear quartz is a great substitute for any type of energy you are wanting to put in. Go forth and trust your gut

I leave amythest and quartz on top of the deck overnight. Is that good? And should the cards be out of the box? I have been leaving them in. Does it matter? I never thought of taking them out.... Also I put new decks under my pillow for a couple of nights.... I guess you can do whatever you intuitively feel, but it's nice to get some tried and true tips from you! 💙🙏💙

So right now I'm losing my energy it feels like a person is taking it away. I couldn't connect with my spiritual realm at all, I can't cleanse the negative energy off my cards everytime I try to do it the cards gets more heavier. I need a contact to my spirit guides but my energy is transferring to my tarot cards. there's a lot of anxiety and low vibe I don't know if this person is taking it away from me or I am sucking her energy.

Is this for real? I have been using tarot for years and never did any cleansing, charging and this all made me laugh, I can't believe how many people believe you have to do it, you are like the pope card and they all just believe and follow blindly 😂
