How To: CLEANLY BUILD AN FPV DRONE 2022

If you liked this tutorial, I accept donations on PayPal:
www.paypal.me/headmazta. If you DO make a donation, please include your KZread CHANNEL in your message :) and/or purchase from any amazon link below.
I've been sharing videos on how to do FPV tricks but now, I'm confident to share all of the techniques that I use when building an FPV quadcopter. It's important that your quad is cleanly built, all solder joints are good, wirings are properly installed and configured, etc. All of the tips that I can give to you are in this video.
PS: I've added subtitles that you can translate to your own native language. I hope this helps when reading the instructions and especially the tips.
Thank you for watching!

    I didn't know that only the signal and ground camera wires should be twisted, I always twisted them all. I guess we never really stop learning new things in this hobby, Thank you! Got allot of useful tips and information from this that I'm going to use on future builds :D

    Love your Videos, man. My comment about your soldering: when you solder the wires into the XT60 you should definitely give it a bit more time to completely heat through and let the wire sink fully in, to make good and solid contact. It is not good to cover up everything with a couple of blobs of solder. Just give it heat, let it all melt and let the wire „swim“ into the pole. One other thing: when you tin your XT60 wires: don’t place them vertically on your workbench. The solder will flow down the wires due to gravity inside the insulation and stiffen up your wires. It may become hard to bend or put them in place later.

  • @DroneAcharya9

    @DroneAcharya9

    I was literally going to say that.. Also, its better to always use the male/female counterpart of the XT60 plugged in so that the inner pins dont move

  • @headmazta

    @headmazta

    Sorry, I skipped the footage because it looked so boring lol, but I'm not just covering the wire with tin. Although I'm moving the soldering iron left and right, I'm not pulling it away and still in contact with the lead so it's still heating the entire thing down to the pads. But yeah I forgot to mention it.

  • @Johow

    @Johow

    @@DroneAcharya9 also a good idea. But the bigger metal surface area(created by the extra set of female/male pins) pulls away a lot of heat. I made a little jig to hold the plug while soldering.

    Yes, absolutely. But honestly, a smoke stopper trips when you have too much current so you'll have to disconnect LEDs and VTX etc. when using it so I don't use it anymore. It's better to just triple check the diagrams and your wires, and make sure that there's not a single solder bridge between any pads.

    Make sure to melt all of the solder on the lead at the same time. If you do it only parts at a time, then it will result in a cold solder joint, which is bad. Great build btw. Keep it up👍

    Pristine parts from Tmotor, clean build indeed. I like it that all wires are cut to the exact length so they don't dangle. red wire not wrapped around is new to me and it totally makes sense to twist only the ground wire to the vtx video or tx/rx.

    I would say you should use higher temps for shorter durations, rather than lower temps for longer periods.. So instead of 400, you probably should use 430 or 440 and that will give you better joints.. the trick is to be quick in and out..

    man, it was very good, only one point that catches my attention is where the capacitor is. I wouldn't do that in my build. I would try to use something as a stand or solder directly to the lipo pad. Another point is the RX, it could have put a heat shrink and used a tpu support for it and the antenna. Other than that, your assembly was very good, congratulations

  • @headmazta

    @headmazta

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks bro! It was a tight build, can't put the cap there. And the RX, i'm done putting them in heat shrinks, hard to maintain.

    nice build. I'm wondering why you didn't / don't put nuts on the top of the stack screws (after FC)? No problems with it coming off the stack from vibration or crashes? I'm also wondering why you recommend only using Raceband for VTX. Thanks

  • @headmazta

    @headmazta

    Жыл бұрын

    Oh, FlightOne recommends to mount the FC without nylon screws on top so it's been. I don't know what Befaflight devs say about that but I have replaced my firmware with FalcoX anyway. It's been the standard, especially when you're flying with your friends, it's easier to choose a channel. Allows up to 8 persons to fly at the same time.

    Don’t see the point of soldering onto the speedy bee vtx as it has a very useful plug that you can solder to the fc and in case you need to change vtx because you burnt the previous one, it’s a lot easier. However, great video, very neat and useful for beginners.

  • @headmazta

    @@headmazta understandable BUT I use speedy bee vtx and I crashed a month ago in a field, my antenna unscrewed a bit from the sma connector and my vtx burnt by being 25 min in the field while I was searching for it. Then the replacement was extremely easy as y just had to unplug the pigtail and the connector and the problem was solved. Both options are good !
