Use a cross hatch pattern

Great video Joey. What tools do you take with you incase of breakdown/belt replacement on trail? Also what do you think of the belt puller that comes with the machine? is it better to replace that as well?

I carry a small ratchet with a long extension, and 8mm long socket to remove the belt cover, and a 15MM socket and 3/8 drive ratchet to get the secondary off. I find it's just easier if you can remove the secondary from the machine, as the second you remove the bolt, the whole clutch loosens up making it much easier to clean, and will also give better access to the primary. To reinstall the new belt, I simply slip it over the primary, and put the secondary in loose. You have to push in the secondary by hand to get the bolt started, and then start to tighten up while taking breaks to spin the clutch by hand, this will help close the clutch together as you're tightening it, and not get it binded up if you tighten too much at a time. But i tells ya, once you get used to doing it that way, you will never want o use the tool again. Better yet though, I change my belts when I have a harder time reaching top speed, or get a slip. I have a heavy foot, so I like to have all the power available every time I hit the throttle, and don't like pulling cors out of clutchs in the trails. lol
