Don’t let the brushes soak inside a water bath Just put the micellarwater directly on the brush head and let that soak with the handle pointing upwards, otherwise you risk the glue inside the Ferrule(metal bit that holds the bristles) to losen thusly brush hairs falling out and losing their shape

If I have 1 or 2, I put a pony tail holder around my faucet and loop the handles thru it to dry...always with the brush head down.

No you do not want to soak your brushes at least don’t let the water hit the bristle shaft. It will loosen the glue if it gets inside. You always want to face then down so water doesn’t get in. And you need to swirl the brush on your palm or you can get a makeup brush cleaning pad. I just use dr bronners diluted and I just swish the brush around. And then rinse the rest off but never let water get in to far. I learned this tips in the early 2000s from a MAC makeup artist, back when MAC was THE makeup brand. I still have my first MAC brushed I got when I was 15 in 2005. I still use them they’re in great condition and I credit it to how I clean them.

I gave it a try with Dr. Bronner’s castile soap (rose scent) bar from Amazon and let me tell you it worked amazing!! No soaking necessary, and the olive and coconut oil in the soap does a fabulous job breaking down the make up gently. Not a spec of foundation or stains on my beauty blender and the brushes were completely clean in minutes.

I’ve found Dawn Dish liquid in HOT water is the best. Then after they’re rinsed, I dip them in 70% alcohol and let them soak about 15 minutes. I take them out of the container, use a clean paper towel to remove the excess, and let them air dry. That acts as the sanitizer. You must sanitize after cleaning. They smell SO fresh and feel SO fluffy when you use them.

The best make up brushes cleaner is extra virgin olive oil . Take a little oil in the palm of your hand and swirl the brush . When most of the gunk is out rinse the brush in soapy water . The oil will leave the bristles soft and un damaged . An extra virgin olive oil is also an amazing make up remover . Also repairing the skin cos it is rich in vitamin E . Good for skin break out ,psoriasis , acne , eczema and dry/oily skin . Olden days , we used to create a warm hair mask with olive oil . Repairing damaged hair . Olive oil girls no need of shitty soap
