Hi I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I was ready to throw my shark in the bin as it had lost all suction and as I bought second hand I had no manual etc. I followed your video step by step there was a massive blockage inside and now it’s like a brand new hoover again 😁 thank you 😊

Normal wear and tear on brush bar is not covered by sharks warranty but it is worth trying contacting them regarding your problem you never no you might get lucky otherwise I can’t help I’ve not tried to remove this part yet,I will take a look when I get chance it must come out though so you can change drive belt,hope this helps

Hi Sally just use any wipes even baby wipes will do or just some hand wipes from a DIY store,or just a damp cloth.

How do you remove the top cover on a lift away stratos? Got a wire stuck and need to remove it. Thanks.😊

To my knowledge unless you want remove security screws and take apart the full head then no,you can use some thin long stiff wire bend a little hook on the end fish it out that way.

Hi sorry your correct no way to remove main roller out unless you totally take machine apart,only way to clean is with knife or scissors,you can feed a thin damp cloth in the gap and then twist roller round and round that’s all I can suggest hope this helps.

Hi Paul, my full middle brush roll has been blocked with hair to the point I have to cut it out. What do you think the problem is here? Thanks

Hi,something I never covered in my video 3 points is if yellow flexible strips on the main roller becomes damage or cut that area of the comb will not work and you get a large build up of hair, also there is a yellow plastic comb just under the main roller if that’s as anything trapped on it that area of the comb stops working. And last your small soft roller at the front might not been turning remove and check the end were the small metal pin sticks out look at we’re it joins the plastic you get a build up hair round the shaft also check other end for hair,this can slow or stop it turning. Hope this helps SJ

I recommend you first turn the power off and phone the emergency service’s or you could use a Dewalt angle grinder 18v some blue paper towel and some gorilla glue then apply some duct tape to secure hope this helps good luck 🤞

Hi I have just hoovered up a small pot of eye cream its about the size of a 10 pence piece it is lodged in the handle section any ideas how to remove?

Hi mac try using a metal coat hanger you could also try heating the area up with a hairdryer could soften the plastic/or spray inside with wd40.

Yes you can clean the hose with a damp cloth on the end of a long pole (don’t put ends of pipe in water or you will damage the electrical connections) hope this helps.

My shark red light after 6 seconds comes on and the brush stops. I took apart to clean, there are no blockages but can't grasp as to why. Any ideas on what I can do next?

Hi Luke have you checked the yellow comb under the brush sometimes get screws/hair pins etc get wedge underneath,also if it’s the soft front brush remove and the remove the grey piece on end sometimes build of hair.

I have this model and I just wish I could take the main roller off as there doesn't seem to be an easy way to clean the viewing window into the main roller - seems like a design flaw to be honest!

Try using a wet wipes and a bendy knife twist the roller it pulls the wipe through cleaning the view window 👍

Remove front roller check the larger moving end should come of clean possibly hair etc see if it turns give it a spay of wd40 oil check other end for blockage etc

My brush is not going round can u help

Hi Agnes if it is the main brush were talking about possibly your drive belt has snapped or you could have a large blockage under or around brush ,access undo the 3 lock key tabs on the underside of vacuum and remove plate to get access from top only to see if blocked hope this helps.

Never seen anyone clean with polythene before jesus..

The name comes from the Hoover Company, one of the first and more influential companies in the development of the device. It’s just the brand most common when I was growing up just always called them hoovers always will.

I’ve never heard anyone in the UK call a hoover anything but a hoover, no matter what the brand name is, we just don’t say vacuum cleaner, or my shark anti hair wrap or Dyson animal, etc:
