Thank you . Had been hearing something sloshing around behind me after it had rained for some time. Right side was good . Left side had a puddle. Put my little finger down where I thought the hole should be and out everything flowed. Then flushed out as you showed . Brilliant !! job done in 15 mins .

Measuring the water dumped vs collected litterally blew my mind. Haha. I've owned mine 5 years and cleaned many times, but I somehow managed to drop a cigarette butt in the drain hole. So was trying to find a way to clean the drain interior. Managed to get it out, vacuumed the plastic "drain pan" and then did same to ensure no clogs within. Thanks for the videos man. My 98 has even well maintained but now that it's a 'classic' I'm going through and replacing worn items. Seats next to be exact :( unfortunately all the conditioning in the world won't save 24 year old leather from eventually tearing

Nicely explained and super clear video. I use a net curtain wire to clear the drains. If I remember right I think that there is another drain under the battery tray. Its a while since I cleaned them out. There are two more small drains not identified in the workshop manual at the rear under the clamshell next to the clamshell plastic adjusment blocks. My car had been standing out unused for about 6 years under trees and the drains were badly blocked. The carpets and sponge under were sodden on the driver side only (rhd car) luckily the acu was dry but took me weeks to dry the carpet out.

I learned this lesson the hard way with my first Boxster. E.C.U. got flooded, car would not start. Watched countless videos of "how to" fix and ended up D. I. Y. and saved myself $1,000's of $$. I haven't had a problem since buying a tuba brush and to give credit where it is due, this idea was shared on another Porsche site I belong to. Nicely done and thanks for sharing the "fifth drain hole" I did not know about it.

Great videos. I discovered a couple more in the trunk that drain water from around the rear spoiler. Rather than a standard hose, they are more of a bellows style. Both of mine were disconnected. Great video! I went through the flooding/replacement of the module nightmare when I first bought my Boxster. The mechanic schooled me on keeping the tubes clean. I put the module in the waterproof cover that is mentioned in the comments, but every time the car gets wet, so does the carpet under the drivers seat. The tube is clear of any debris. I keep the car in a garage and never drive in the rain, which is not very handy. So, I have pulled the left wheel and removed the plastic inner fender cover, exposing the plastic drain tube to get a good look. There must be a leak where the plastic tube connects to the metal body, but I am reluctant to pull on the tube from the outside to check the connection for fear of breaking it, or not being able to get it back together with sealant on it. Any suggestions?

I personally do NOT like pushing anything down those drain holes. I'm concerned about pushing the hose OFF of the connector if I encounter a clog. I use a shop vac with a tube taped to the crevice tool and vacuum the dirt out of the drain. If anything, clean up with a string trimmer line.

@@HelpMeDIY Totally agree with the keeping up with the established holes, but I refer to foreseeable events, for instance one could unforgivably leave a window open or even slightly open, additionally, the actual drain spots might be seriously challenged under continuous periods of pouring, even for days. Manufactures simply comply with providing a basic solution for perfect scenarios, outside of that, they look forward to rip the benefits of every owner's mistakes. I'm talking about very costly damages here. Now the dime size circular hole I am considering would be joined by a L type pipe extending along the outside of the floorboard. Only issue I would study is the kinds of physics law to help prevent water from coming in, in case one drive through a flooded road. I had a recent experience with flooding in mine and perhaps scaped damaging the ECU because of the immediate response. I am currently not sure how it happened exactly although I found some substantially obstructed drain spots. I have not yet properly inspected the driver's door for potential leak spots as I noticed the fabric in the bottom of the driver's door panel badly soaked and wet and likely the way water went inside and into the floor. So I will invite you to explore this facts also, as you are more capable to create the mechanism. It would make up for an interesting video episode.
