    Very cool video. Thank you. I love this rifle, been saving for one for a bit now. Have to wait a bit more cuz the COVID, no big. I know they dont come with glass. Ima just say, you should get lens covers. Not just so you can keep them clean, during cleaning, but all the time. Glass is expensive, protect it.

    Is this bolt the same disassembly and reassembly process as the standard Remington 700? Good video, thanks for sharing.

    I didn't disassemble this particular bolt as the owners manual says it is not necessary for basic cleaning but just looking at it, it seems very similar.

    @@michaelbosisto6259 OK. Possibly take it to a gunsmith and have them show you disassembly. I did a bolt disassembly videon on the Remington 710. If you check that out, that may help you with your own bolt.

    It really depends on your operating conditions. If you are working in extreme humidity, snow, sand or mud you may want to do so every month but since mine only get taken out for a sight in and a hunting trip I usually clean mine once a year at the end of hunting season.

    Some people like to take 3-5 shots and then clean the barrel, repeat that a few times and then you are good. You may want to call the company to ask.

    I do keep my 'other' rifles, carbines, pistols clean after each session...but my R700, I keep the barrel 'fouled' too until it begins to open up to over 1 MOA at usually around 330 rounds after a cleaning. Then I clean it and after 4 or so shots, it starts shooting 3/4 MOA again (1MOA is acceptable). The other parts, I clean and wipe down. Yeah the mild OCD in me had to take a second seat (because of my profession at the time) to keep the rifle shooting top notch for when it was needed. Although, bench rifle may be different, not sure. Anyone with bench experience, please chime in. Always good stuff to learn.

    @@travisp11 I really shouldn't be so blunt, for that I appologize. I in fact love the look and feel as well, but there are countless bad reviews and a history of issues in addition to bad customer service with these rifles. I've heard some true horror stories about guys getting royaly screwed by this company. If you want to know more go read on "snipershide.com" on some of the forums outlining specific details of what I'm referring to. In the precision world, yes they are known for being a not so great manufacturer.

    Brad Allen hey man no worries. All that I known about them is what I have done at the range for a few tests and that is all. You aren’t the first person to mention this and in all honestly for what they charge for a rifle you deserve a premium customer experience. If they don’t offer that then they are a company best to be avoided. I do appreciate your reply and thank you!

    Dude, you didn't take the bolt down and you didn't even use a bore guide. This is not an effective way to clean a rifle. You need to use a rod with the proper brush. You need to remove copper.

  • @travisp11

    @travisp11

    The manual doesn’t recommend a bolt disassembly. As for the barrel, yes a brass brush and copper/brass solvent is always an option.
