I feel a bit silly right now. LOL. I've been cleaning up sneakers for a few months I guess...with brush and hand method. I have these brush-drill extensions in my basement with my car tire care..for the rims. Which I have never used. Ok..now I'll be using them! 😆 Sure it's a bit more messy...but at least my hand wont cramp up! Thanks! I did take these old 2002 Adidas Superstars "Shell Tops", been in a closet for almost 20 years. Sneaker is in great condition...except for the crazy oxidation / yellowing on the white front "shell" hard plastic part and midsole due to age, just sitting. I couldn't get these yellow with brushing, cleaners...etc. Another trick I saw elsewhere which I completed this past week, it only took a total of 90 min. Product called Salon 40 Cream (cheap and can be found on Amazon or a Sallys beauty supply pretty darn cheap $5) First off ***MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GLOVES, you MUST protect the skin from this cream** Just used a result brush...applied it to front hard shell part, midsole. Placed them in the sun...for 45 min, took them out..washed off the cream. The difference was night and day! I did for one more 45 min session to hit parts where the sun didn't hit. Outcome was more impressive than I thought. But cleaning for resell..nice little side hustle. Or copping a hard to find/discontinued pair of Jordans for example at thrift super cheap...deep cleaning them, slight restore if needed. It's pretty satisfying!

This are great tips. Thank you for them. I've been washing shoes for years. The dirtier they are, the cheaper they are. I wash them by hand at the kitchen sink. Hot water, a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid and little rubbing alcohol and a scrub brush. The alcohol will sanitize and get rid of most dirt. Great for ink marks on cloth too. For white rubber that will JUST NOT come clean, hot water, Barkeeper's Friend powder. I use a wash cloth, careful not to get it on the cloth of shoe, and rinse really well. Picked up some white Clifton 8 Hokas last week. DIRTY! Came out looking brand new. For darker color shoes, lukewarm water and a little vinegar in the water. Keeps colors from running

@@nickwoo1 did some thrifting last week while on vacation in Daytona. Picked up 4 pairs of shoes. The drill technique with the brushes worked great. Thanks for the tip. And yes, I would recommend doing it outside. On low speed it’s not bad but on high speed things start to get messy.

It would be good to know how high the margin of value you make the shoe after you clean them. Sometimes I wounder if taking 10 to 15 minutes to clean one pair is worth the 5% increase in value i give the shoe. A 20% increase in value is sure worth it regardless of having these speedy tools you have. This video gives me ideas for the future. Thanks.

@@nickwoo1 no problem, I tested it out and it did work very well on a classic pair of vans with white soles. Wore gloves and a apron to help from getting anything on my clothes especially using acetone, a clean towel and just dabbed a corner with the acetone and worked a smal area first before I ran it across the whole sole, didn't go over the vans logo on the back middle of the sole but it made the yellowish sole go back to white and looked brand new so I was very happy with the results, good luck on the test and drop the results in your next cleaning video if you can, would like to see how it works for others. Thanks for the reply Nick 🙏🏽
