How to clean & repoint a patio

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

15 years of dirt on this patio & wall full of weeds ,black and white spot ,algae moss you name it .
Are job was to remove all the dirt grime and weeds and clean it . We repointed the path with flowpoint cement slurry.
watch how we transformed the garden wall and pointed it with flowpoint.
The video shows step by step the process to get your tiered dirty paving back to its former glory .
All finished off with a really good paving slurry to repoint your paving and walls.

    Well, I started watching, thinking to myself "Oh no, not another patio cleaning shambles, I know how to use a Karcher!" And then the magic happened. Just goes to show what a difference sheer effort and skill can make to a finished job. Justin, you convinced me mate, that was definitely NOT a patio cleaning shambles - more a work of art mate. What a difference!

    Thanks John mate hope your doing alright . People seem to be going for the cheaper trades people option with us aswell . Very frustrating when all we care about is doing a really good job but that extra detail thought and attention costs .You get what you pay for with us and if people want cheap let em carry on . Difficult times followed by what thats the big question. Not a lot of confidence to spend money out there at the moment. 43% materials have gone up on average since 2021 .Its difficult now to win work as its difficult for people to afford the work its natural for people to look at cheaper options. For us we set out who we are we have an identity of a trusted company that do top work and that cant change John. Good luck pal speak again soon mate for a catch up . Justin 👍

    the whole point of using both hypo (bleach) and slurry based pointing is you must rinse off afterwards with copious amounts of water. Run off is therefore both essential and inevitable. You'll notice that the (keen gardener) householder removed certain plants before they started, presumably to eliminate any risk to them The only other safeguard you can use is to thoroughly soak the borders so any run off will be entering totally saturated ground where it will become so dilute it is much less likely to do any lasting damage.

  • @ColinDyckes
    @ColinDyckes3 ай бұрын

    Great result, but two questions if I may: 1) won't the hypochlorite kill the grass as well as cleaning off the mould spots? 2) The flowpoint seems to leave a very rough finish with that approach - isn't that just going to accumulate dirt, moss, mould? Looks as if a brickie's jointing trowel could fix that, but not sure at what stage. I have a large buff concrete patio that needs completely repointing and wondering whether to try flowpoint over the traditional soak, let slabs dry in sun, brush in dry mortar mix, point method.

  • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping

    @brickrightbuildinglandscaping

    You have to be careful using chemicals obviously. I didn't create any damage to plants and grass and ive never found hypo do that although it can be harmful to green growth but thats the chance you and the customer take if you want your patio cleaned i guess. All i will say about flowpoint is in my opinion its at this time the best product to use to point or re point indian sandstone. Its very strong and durable and comes in different types and colour so may be look up flowpoint smooth for your requirements 👍

    Flowpoint can leave a haze in some areas of the paving. Sometimes we use a weak dilution to clean this off to give those perfect results we look for .It has no immediate or lasting effects on the Flowpoint. 👍
