Cleaning Process:
Turn off the photocopier and unplug it from the power source. Safety first!
Open the front cover according to your machine's instructions. This will provide access to the IBT unit.
Locate the IBT unit. It's typically a long, black belt running horizontally inside the machine.
Dampen a lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Make sure it's moist but not dripping.
Carefully wipe the entire surface of the IBT unit. Gently wipe in one direction to avoid spreading toner residue.
Use a separate dry lint-free cloth to buff the IBT unit. This removes any remaining cleaning solution and polishes the surface.
(Optional) Use compressed air to remove any toner dust particles that might be lingering. Hold the can upright and spray at short bursts from a safe distance.
Let the IBT unit air dry completely before closing the cover.
Plug the photocopier back in and turn it on.
Important Tips:
Never touch the IBT unit with your bare hands. The oils from your skin can damage the belt and affect print quality.
Don't use harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths to clean the IBT unit. This can damage the belt.
