    Did this last night to my kitchen faucet for the first time in 2 years. First of all, I was disgusted. Second of all, It worked amazing! This will be a routine part of my weekly cleaning for sure!

    Excellent, am glad you got it done. That area of the faucet is so easily missed when cleaning because the faucet is alway facing down. One has to be intentional about cleaning it for sure 😊.

    I just watched a video about a whole family constantly getting sick. They called in a plumber, who found an absolutely disgusting aerator. It almost looked like worms growing on the inside. That was the source. He suggested bleach, but I prefer the vinegar solution. And knowing to wash it monthly is a real savior. Thanks for the video. You may have saved people from gettick sick.

    No you cannot use vinegar on mable/granite because vinegar is acidic and will etch or dull those surfaces. Am still on the look out for the product to use and I will do a video once I get it.

    The manufacturer of my faucet (Kraus) says "do not use cleaners containing any abrasive powders, bleach, ammonia, alcohol, vinegar, or chlorine.", so vinegar isn't an option for me. I might try a product like Dezcal, which is a different kind of acid from vinegar.

    Hello, if you soak the shower head in vinegar for hours, will it damage/erode the stainless steel? Because I've tried this method and somehow the stainless steel part become a bit "cloudy" or has some kind of white stain after contact with vinegar.

    Yeah I tried this method on my faucets (brushed nickel) and it didn’t work. The vinegar was damaging and eroding the faucet.

  • @TheCleanLoft

    Hi @D.N. For the faucet you use to fetch water for cooking or drinking, use white vinegar. This is because cleaning vinegar is too strong and is not recommended for consumption.

    Will it destroy a matt coated faucet?

  • @TheCleanLoft

    @TheCleanLoft

    2 жыл бұрын

    I have not used vinegar on matte finishes because it is acidic and may remove the finish. Other manufacturers recommend diluting the vinegar with water 50/50. You can also add some drops of ph neutral dish soap like dawn as well. Note when cleaning they don't recommend soaking the faucets but just spray and clean right away. I suggest you try on a hidden part first before cleaning the whole area. Another option is to check with your manufacturer on how to care for the faucets/sink with such finishes cause they will know too

    just want to confirm: did the vinegar discolor/damage/dull the faucet head silver coating?

  • @TheCleanLoft

    @TheCleanLoft

    Жыл бұрын

    No it did not. Different faucet finishes react to vinegar differently though. So if you are not sure I suggest you cut down the soaking time and also dilute the vinegar and see if that will work better for your faucet.
