My drain is made up of plastic pvc pipes joined together with pvc cement. Once before I poured in hot boiling water not realising it was no good. The extreme heat melted the cement at the pipe joints breaking my pipe assembly apart. What can I use in place of boiling water to protect my drain pipe assembly? I’m thinking chlorine solution if that’s okay.. I believe that hot water would only work for METALLIC pipe drains.

Well it depends on the chlorine really. I reccomend you contact the right people about this, but from what ive heard water chlorine is better than dry (powder) chlorine.

I think it's almost impossible to find an entire drain system that's metal. It's all pvc.
