How to clean beer lines on a kegerator

Hey everyone, today I cleaned the lines on my kegerator and I thought I would show you all how to do it as well. I always clean my lines after I empty a keg. It's really good practice to do so in order to prevent skunky beer. No one wants to drink a skunky draft beer. Hope you enjoy it!
Kegerator cleaning kit:
spanner wrench
cleaning bottle
cleaning tube
cleaning solution
faucet brush
dishwashing soap
I replaced the keg with a new 1/6 keg of Kona BIG WAVE Golden Ale

I like soaking my lines in diesel fuel for a couple of days. Gets them super clean! A little after taste for a couple of days but you get used to it....

Dad, I gotta say great job in cleaning your lines as most home kegerators don’t get touched. A couple pointers from your 22 year draught vet. When cleaning please be sure to protect yourself. Always wear gloves and eye protection as the chemical you are using is caustic and can do serious damage. Please delete the olive oil and dish detergent from your process. Both will decrease your perfect beer outta faucet. Rather use just warm water or better yet the solution in your pan. Be sure to rinse the coupler (part that attaches to keg) off before coupling to your keg as it was sitting in bucket of solution and again it’s caustic. I also noticed your Co2 is set a little low. Settings should be 12 psi at sea level so not sure where you live but in altitude it will only get higher. Also line length and size at sea level is 5Feet of 3/16” vinyl and it looks like you may have poly which has much less restriction but we can’t lower the pressure to compensate and that would mean you’d need a flow control faucet. A whole nother subject. Great job Brotha 🍻

In lieu of Olive Oil, have you tried Coconut Oil?

Every 2 weeks is industry standard but I don’t disagree with Dad in doing this at keg changes.

Surely the olive oil will make the beer go flat. I use a smear of food grade silicon lubricant. A little goes a long way . (PS you should be brewing your own. So much more satisfaction.
