For the lip gloss wands and mascara brushes.... Isn't the bacteria already in the tube/product itself? How does washing the wands help disinfect?

This was so much good info. I clean my brushes and my powder sponges but I never even thought to wash my mascara wands or that I should clean my lipstick! It makes tons of sense, though. Thank you for the advice!

I've tried washing my BB cushion sponges but I NEVER managed to get them cleaned - always ended up chucking them out after every attempt to wash because they always turn out gross and damaged. Got the sigma mat and the beauty blender soap immediately after I saw this, and gosh this is amazeballssssss IT WORKS!!! Soooo amazinggggggg!!! Thank you Jen!!! :)

I'm a bit hesitant to do this method since I'm afraid leaving out my makeup like that will oxidize it, making my makeup dry quicker and last for a shorter amount of time :s But maybe the alcohol prvents this, idk.

Is it safe to use the alcohol on lipsticks and things because a lot of lipstick actually gets ingested so is that ok to do? Also can you spray your BB Cushion (like the sponge that has the product) with alcohol or will that ruin it?

Hello Meejmuse! I am trying to make a pact from my powder and I need rubbing alcohol so badly! How do you say rubbing alcohol in Korean? I tried to go to pharmacy but they only have that 소독 ethanol. Or is it possible to use ethanol instead of rubbing alcohol to make pact? Looking forward to your answer! Thanks xx

There is not a disadvantage it actually is better because it dries quicker but don't use anything less.

Can I use 99% rubbing alcohol to fix my makeup? I bought it wrongly and I'm not sure was it safe to use.

when using rubbing alcohol the bubbles are the bacterias its killing

They probably have citric acid which will bubble and react when in contact with any liquid/liquid mixture. This is what makes bath bombs fizz :))

it creates high temp steam that kills all bacteria.

Spraying makeup products with alcohol dries out the products and actually shortens the shelf life.
